RCC Secretary General @amer_kap today at the Advancing Employment and Social Policy Together conference hosted by @BMAS_Bund in #Berlin as part of the #BerlinProcess framework. Together with @DelinaIbrahimaj, Minister of Economy and Innovation, Besar Durmishi Minister of Economy and Labor, and Jelena Vasić, Senior Advisor for Creation of Active Employment Measures, RCC SG spoke at the “Promoting employment: Effective strategies for resilient and inclusive labour markets” panel on common labour market challenges, including skills gaps, demographic pressures, labour mobility, and public employment services modernisation. “Regional cooperation is not an additional layer of work, but a practical necessity. No one else will build resilient labour markets for the Western Balkans but the authorities of the region, working together and for the benefit of their citizens. RCC will continue to support that work by connecting regional cooperation with EU processes, and by helping ensure that commitments produce visible, measurable results” said RCC SG. “Ona, Srebrenica – Women’s Voices in Memory” is a project supported by the British Council, implemented by Srebrenica Memorial, focused on exploring and documenting the role of women in shaping collective memory in Srebrenica. It builds on the earlier “Ona, Srebrenica” initiative, when in 2022 the anniversary of the genocide was marked with a renewed focus on women — their role in the ongoing struggle for truth and justice. The work also draws from a wider campaign supported by the UK Government, aimed at strengthening and amplifying these efforts. Now, that story continues through a series of workshops with women leaders, mothers, sisters and daughters of Srebrenica. The first session brought participants together to reflect not only on an organisation and its activities, but on people, on the roles they embody and the meanings society attaches to them. Through open discussion, the group explored how identities are shaped and how memory is collectively formed. In the second part, the conversation turned to the idea of the “figure of a woman”. What does she represent? A witness, a guardian, an activist, a keeper of memory.
