You mean corpos and governments will own everything and issue us food stamps so we can buy some bug meals and biomade slop and do what? Oil paintings and gardening all day? I dunno

Strategic infrastructure isn't just roads and power grids anymore. It's tokenized stock exchanges, bioindustrial manufacturing, industrial cybersecurity, and defense production lines. @NYSE just announced a 24/7 tokenized trading platform with on chain settlement. BioMADE funded 14 projects spanning biomining to AI enabled protein production. The new issue of Global Signals breaks down what these shifts mean for science diplomacy, investment, and competitiveness. Read and subscribe: global-signals.ghost.io

Tämmönen > löyty aiheeseen liittyen Kesällä 2024 Yhdysvaltain puolustusministeriö (DoD/Pentagon) rahoitti BioMADE-nimistä julkisen ja yksityisen sektorin konsortiota, joka sai yli 500 miljoonaa dollaria veronmaksajien rahoja. BioMADE julkaisi haun ehdotuksille, joissa kehitettäisiin mm. laboratoriossa viljeltyä lihaa/proteiinia sotilaille tarkoitettuihin ravinteikkaisiin annoksiin. Kongressissa (mm. republikaaniedustajat kuten Don Bacon) tehtiin muutosehdotuksia rahoituksen estämiseksi. Heinäkuussa 2024 DoD perääntyi: he vahvistivat, ettei laboratoriolihaa kehitetä eikä oteta käyttöön sotilaiden ruokavalioon ihmiskulutukseen (human consumption). Rahoitus keskitettiin muualle, eikä projektia jatkettu tällä tavalla. Lähteet vahvistavat tämän (esim. NCBA:n tiedote 23.7.2024, Cowboy State Daily, AGDAILY, Green Queen ym.).

Hidden in the FY2026 U.S. Defense Budget, Congress approved $640M for “biological technologies for defense resilience” with a 40% jump in two years. Days later, the DoD-funded BioMADE Institute met behind closed doors in Washington with DARPA’s Biological Technologies Office to discuss “defense applications of biomanufacturing resilience.” What’s happening? The Pentagon is quietly building a synthetic biology supply chain — turning living cells into factories that can make fuels, materials, or medicines on demand. For the military, it means self-producing logistics: a drone that grows its own parts, or a bioreactor that prints vaccines in the field. For civilians, it’s about control — public money and university labs being folded into defense production, while oversight and ethics trail far behind. Biology is becoming infrastructure. Life itself is being engineered as a strategic asset. That’s why it matters — and why you haven’t heard about it until now. The @b2idigital team is pleased to introduce @eXoZymes (Nasdaq: EXOZ) as a new B2i Digital Featured Company. A full company profile will be available soon at b2idigital.com/featured-comp… eXoZymes is a Los Angeles, California-based biotechnology company pioneering cell-free biomanufacturing through its proprietary exozyme platform. The company has developed AI-engineered enzymes that operate outside living cells to transform sustainable feedstock into nutraceuticals, medicines, and essential chemicals, offering a scalable and commercially viable alternative to traditional petrochemical production methods, natural extraction, or synthetic biology. Founded on technology validated through multiple peer-reviewed publications in Nature Communications and Nature Chemical Biology, eXoZymes focuses on high-value, low-volume products including active pharmaceutical ingredients, nutraceuticals, and sustainable aviation fuel. The company recently demonstrated its platform’s capabilities by achieving gram-scale production of NCT (a nutraceutical compound) with over 99% purity in just five months, showcasing the speed and efficiency of its cell-free approach. With $1.4 million in grant income through Q2 2025 from sources including NIH, NSF, and BioMADE, eXoZymes is advancing multiple projects including its lead NCT program targeting the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) treatment market, estimated at $21 billion. The company’s BioClick platform, supported by NIH, accelerates enzyme engineering through high-throughput screening capabilities and novel ways of implementing AI. eXoZymes is led by an experienced management team including Michael Heltzen, CEO; Damien Perriman, CCO; Dr. Tyler Korman, VP of Research and Co-founder; Dr. Paul Opgenorth, VP of Development and Co-founder; Fouad Nawaz, VP of Finance; Dr. Zachary Karl, Ph.D., VP of Business Development; and Lasse H.
