And if there were anything valid within that message, I'm sure it would be taken into consideration.
But there's not.
Rule #1, when you actually have a sound, reasonable, rational argument, there is no need to fabricate your talking points.
The never-ending shrieks of "The youth!"- The industry serves those over 21. Valid, current ID required. They acquire either illegal product, or through diversion. Both of which are crimes, and always have been.
The constant reference to "cartels"- Continued prohibition and actually the excessive tax rates applied on state medical and adult use programs feed the cartel supply of illegal products.
Now I see a new one, which is "laundering Fentanyl money through state legal programs". Which category of BioTrack/METRC are those assigned to? I've seen investors and principals rejected from licensing/badging processes on much less offenses than being cartel involved.
We don't even have to address the nonsensical medical issues, which all present symptoms which are definitively symptoms of the ingestion of contaminants, from microbials, through pesticides, and elevated heavy metals. (Heavy metals also a byproduct of inferior vape hardware as well) Extremely well documented.
But yet no "research", nor treatment to date includes the actual analysis of the material ingested. Merely a rush to declare cannabis/THC the cause, when it has not produced these effects for 5,990 years or it's 6,000 years of use.
CHS a personal favorite of mine, given cannabis use by tens of millions over decades for anti-nausea, and not a single case of material ingested analyzed, which is as simple as $50 and next day results depending on the state and lab's utilized.
No. "Serious" "research" does not rush to make declarations on substances without spending $50. Yet for all cannabis related issues, they have. And do.
Rescheduling will create significant leap forward in research, which is the actual true "smart approach". The constant statements indicating somehow rescheduling will increase use, or affect use in any way, shape, or form is unsupported, and factually nonsensical.
60MM cannabis consumers nationwide. 26 adult use states, 40 medical states. If all states were to lose their licensing tomorrow and reverse, believing use and consumers would not remain 60MM people is equally absurd. Interestingly enough, the fastest documented segment for many years has been, is, and continues to be seniors. Not youth (which cannot access state regulated and taxed program retail)
Many will then replay saying that is incorrect, they can. Go ahead and try. No employee, management, or principals have any interest whatsoever in risking their, in many cases 7 figure licensed, regulated, and inspected operations over a $40 sale to a minor. Nor do the same believe they should have access as well.
Unless one operates within the industry in numerous states, one has actually no idea whatsoever the levels of scrutiny operations fall under daily. (Different for every state) My personal experiences are with states and facilities with up to 150 cameras, 24/7 authorized access by state law enforcement the norm, regular inspections by regulators, law enforcement, and any and all associated agencies. Mandatory product testing and inspections for cultivation. Fingerprints and background checks for all employee's, principals, and investors. (Rejections for minor issues often, sometimes for as little as proof of residency confirmations/documentation.
There are quite a few potentially valid issues to utilize. Yet you do not. (Truth be told, even if you did, the responses to those would be simple as well)
Many cite public use, which is a local law enforcement issue, and prohibited by virtually every state adult use and medical program. Personally, I agree. I think fines should be aggressively applied, and double with each subsequent offense. A concert is one thing, a public place with families and children another.
But issues such as those aren't rescheduling arguments, are they?
It's going to be rescheduled, initiated Monday. Absolutely none of the aspects you continuously state will come into play. Actually, unless one is a stakeholder, employee, or in research, one would never know it was rescheduled if not for the news cycle and people such as yourself and organization.
In the end, we're talking about a nontoxic substance, called "one of the safest" by a DEA official I believe, that the overwhelming majority of the nation can legally purchase and consume. There is actually a series in which people are taken and captured on video as they consume cannabis. It includes ex law enforcement, religious, and a popular one is "Grandma's". (Youtube, "Grandmas consuming cannabis") It's fairly uneventful but usually involves food.
I have always welcomed everyone to simply try it for themselves. The issue is, when those who have never consumed it before do, they actually see how ridiculously mild the effects are and realize how they have been misled. For someone such as yourself and organization, the more use, the greater and quicker your loss of any and all credibility.
I'll even do my part to ensure all hear your message. I'll tag below.
Cannabis use in America has growth at the rates it has specifically due to (for adult use) how minor the effects are, and for medical, how effective it is. No state regulated and taxed programs allow public consumption, nor diversion to youth (or non-patients for medical), Mandatory testing prevents consumption of contaminants (pesticides, microbials, and heavy metals) which lead to the medical issues you commonly cite and credit to cannabis.
Yet you actively seek to prevent every aspect which prevents youth use, ensures public safety, and additional research.
Rescheduling is the epitome of a "Smart approach" to cannabis. (Not "marijuana"). I'm sure we all just can't wait for your next selection of fabrications developed by a team which seems to be on prescription drugs and alcohol in order to come up with arguments so far removed from reality, substance abuse is the only thing which would make sense.
