This video was shot on the SF Peninsula facing south towards the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is possible that several of the cloud-to-ground lightning strikes captured in this video were the strikes that sparked the deadly #CZUComplex. @NWSBayArea #CAwx

Despite Hamilton Mtn. fire cam of @AlertWildfire network still being down after #DixieFire's recent assault, it's not destroyed unlike frozen fire cams last year after showing fire at the base, most memorable of which was Bonny Doon fire cam in Santa Cruz Co. during #CZUComplex.

Update on Hamilton Mtn cameras: the fire didn't destroy the tower after all and we are coordinating with CALFIRE to send a crew to the site to assess damage.

Had the opportunity to walk among the redwoods & coast this Sat for a doc project. It's been calling me since before the #CZUcomplex started. Recovery is evident among the sprouts and seedlings. Even the cat face sky portal persists. Hopefully #IndigenousRx for the next fire.

Last summer we had reservations to camp at Big Basin, but couldn't due to Covid and the #czucomplex fire. Drove near today and it's amazing to see both the devastation and the rebirth of the forest.
