Our discussions reflected on both opportunities and challenges faced by women and girls in chess — particularly around mobility, safety, continuity after marriage, and sustaining participation over different stages of life. These conversations continue to reinforce why creating supportive ecosystems for women in chess remains essential.
It was especially fascinating to hear from Mr. President about Bangladesh’s chess journey in the late 20th century and his reflections and experiences from those formative years.
