Just like coffee shops operate from like 8 am to 10 pm, and bars/ nightclubs operate from 8 pm to 3-4 am, I think codecafes or codeclubs or modern version of library needs to run from 11 pm to 4 am for the nightouts glued to their laptops/ terminals 😶 working alone at home/room is sometimes annoying. Missing my founder roommates who were always awake from 11 pm to 4 am 😭

Today, some of our team members visited the Ministry of Education to share details about our upcoming digital skills program for secondary schools. We had a great conversation with key officials who were excited about the vision and impact of the program. We talked about how we plan to train teachers, so they can confidently teach digital skills in their schools. We also discussed setting up Code Clubs in public schools where students can explore tech in a fun and engaging way. Another exciting part is the plan to provide robotics kits to help students learn through hands-on activities and spark their interest in STEM. Weirdly D1 struggles with board games because of the 'enforced'(?) social aspect. She enjoys ttrpgs though (maybe fewer rules, more freedom?). We were looking at Geek Bar Harrogate which has a LGBTQ games night. She's MEANT to be in school on Tuesday pms, but who knows?

I think someone's already mentioned that the various codeclubs that run in the libraries are aimed at younger audiences. some of the twine or bitsy/bipsi game jams might be great communities to connect in with, but I've not seen so many physical events, or local to leeds?
