This is why every country should build their own AI. The US government just switched off the world's most powerful public AI with one letter. No court. No explanation. They don't answer to your business, your country, or you. Access to American AI can be revoked overnight, by people you don't elect, for reasons they never have to explain. Depending on it is now a strategic risk, not a convenience. China saw this coming. Chinese providers went from under 2% of global AI model traffic to over 45% in a single year. The names driving it: Kimi from Moonshot, Qwen from Alibaba, DeepSeek, MiniMax, StepFun, Tencent, and ByteDance. The chips are the part people underestimate. GLM-5 was trained entirely on Huawei Ascend silicon. DeepSeek's latest runs on domestic chips. Baidu brought a 30,000-chip cluster online with no Nvidia inside. Nvidia's China market share fell from 85% to 70% in a single year. China's chips still trail the frontier, and it still buys Nvidia where it can. But it is building faster than any export control can contain. Every lab diversifying, every domestic chip shipped, every model trained on Huawei silicon is a step toward a stack no foreign letter can touch. China didn't wait to be told. China Warns EU Over Possible Sanctions on Third-Country Companies The EU really needs to understand one thing: China is not a small country waiting to be disciplined by Brussels. You want to sanction Chinese companies, Turkish companies, Indian companies, and whoever else refuses to obey your anti-Russia script? Fine. But do not act shocked when China responds. Unilateral sanctions without international law or UN authorization are not “rules.” They are power politics dressed up as morality. And the problem for Europe is simple: China is not defenseless. China has the industrial capacity, market size, supply chains, and countermeasures to make sanctions hurt both ways. Europe keeps acting as if it still commands the world economy. It does not. If Brussels wants to turn sanctions into a habit, China can turn countermeasures into one too. Do not pick a fight with the factory of the world and then cry when the factory checks your supply chain.

Or do you nod along and say "Oh yes person I've never met, we love the new rules, we love Mandarin, everything is wonderful here (please don't report me)" Because if you think the latter is what happens in police states, you are phenomenally stupid. Today, June 4th — the date the West uses every year to commemorate the Tiananmen event, as if they actually cared about China. Student leader Chai Ling exposed the real agenda in her emotional late-May 1989 interview. The 23-year-old psychology student and de facto commander-in-chief admitted the movement’s true hope was bloodshed: “What we are actually hoping for is bloodshed — the moment when the government has no choice but to butcher the people. Only when the square is awash with blood will the people of China truly unite.” She spoke of her own plans to survive while urging students to stay and wait for the bloodbath. This wasn’t organic student idealism. It was the climax of a hijacked movement. What began with legitimate frustrations over corruption and inflation was rapidly turned into one of the first major Western colour revolution attempts in Beijing. External forces — funding, NGOs, strategists on the ground, and media orchestration — pushed English banners for Western cameras, radical escalation, and deliberate chaos to force a violent crackdown. Classic playbook. These operations specifically prey on young, emotional, idealistic students — naive, never held real jobs, fed Hollywood fantasies of the West, and easy to brainwash with slogans of “democracy” and “freedom.” They become useful idiots, turned against their own country while the organizers keep exit plans ready. Violence erupted outside the square: rioters burning unarmed soldiers alive, attacks on troops. Half the deaths were soldiers. Yet the dominant Western narrative still pushes the “massacre on the square” myth. They refused to become another failed state or vassal. They chose sovereignty, stability, and development. Legitimate grievances get hijacked. Youthful idealism is powerful fuel — and dangerously exploitable when outsiders brainwash kids into destroying their own future. China learned the lesson early. Here is a quick hypothetical question for you. A friend calls you: "So there's this guy in my neighborhood. He keeps insulting me in public, slapped me around a few times, and told everyone he might take my garage. Last month he tried to annex my neighbor's yard. He now wants me to join his "club" where I can only buy groceries from his store, even if the shop across the street sells the same thing for half the price. He named the club "The I Want to Dominate This Block Association." I hate this guy and desperately want to get away from him... Should I join the club?" Well, your friend pretty much described the EU joining America's "Pax Silica" - which they apparently just committed to (x.com/BertuzLuca/status/2062…) Starting with the name. Typically, when great powers set up an initiative that is imperialistic in nature, they pick a name that says the opposite: “alliance for progress,” “partnership for peace,” etc. This time, evidently in no mood for euphemism, the US straight up called their initiative the most imperialistic name conceivable, directly inspired by the Roman Empire (Pax Romana). Literally the equivalent of naming your neighborhood club "The I Want to Dominate This Block Association." And it's exactly what it, quite explicitly, sets out to do. It's written right on the tin (state.gov/pax-silica): countries sign up, align their supply chains with Washington, shut out Chinese products - however good or cheap - and buy American. The neighborhood bully grocery store clause, basically, except it's for the most strategic technology of the century: the entire AI stack. Worse still, as I explain in my article, not only is the EU voluntarily locking itself into even further dependency on the very power it keeps saying it needs to break free from, but it's doing so in a way that will make it all the more difficult for them to compete in the layer of AI that will matter most - the application layer, where the actual value of AI will get built. That’s the fundamental con behind “Pax Silica”: on the one hand the declaration they wrote (state.gov/pax-silica) affirms that “the 21st century will run on compute” just like “the 20th century ran on oil and steel,” yet on the other hand they’re building a system that makes that very resource scarcer and more expensive for every member of the club - everyone, that is, except for themselves who get to sell it. On top of ensuring, if we keep using their "oil and steel" analogy, that members of the club don’t drill their own oil wells or build their own steel mills. In short Pax Silica is not a wall against China, it's really a cage to keep America's "partners" in - dependent on American tech, and unable to build their own. On June 4, the world marks 37 years since the Chinese Communist Party ordered its troops to attack thousands of peaceful demonstrators in and around Tiananmen Square. Those who sacrificed to uphold their unalienable rights of free expression and peaceful assembly will be vindicated someday.

Just so everyone is clear, the gripe here is that China is destroying the profits of the western bourgeoisie, because they are forced to make their products cheaper to compete with Chinese competitors. This is the central argument of 100% of all western economic analysis of China. The more affordable China's products, the more it destroys their monopolies and their profit margins. As always, the purpose of such propagandists, as well as their "elected" governments, is to make the interests of the bourgeoisie appear like the national interests of their respective countries. It's the first rule of bourgeois economics: What's good for the bourgeoisie is good for the proletariat.
