In February 2024, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) issued a Guidance Notice on the registration of Data Controllers and Processors of Major Importance (DCPMIs), setting 30 June 2024 as the deadline for registration.
Following a series of engagements with stakeholders, the NDPC on Saturday 29 June 2024, graciously extended the registration deadline to 30 September 2024 to grant organisations additional time to comply with the registration requirement and ensure all necessary data protection measures are adequately implemented. To give full effect to the deadline extension, the NDPC has also waived the penalty fee for non-registration.
We therefore enjoin all public and private organisations designated as DCPMIs who are yet to comply with the registration requirement to take advantage of the extension and ensure compliance before the new deadline to avoid penalties.

We have updated the data so all can see what we have achieved & also how much further we still have yet to go through an explicit informed opt-in model that keeps patients, staff & ourselves as #DataControllers safe whilst we continue to deliver quality, safe care during a crisis
If #Trust is so important to be maintained within the #NHS, why is this not being talked about openly?
Patient data - being used for "research" without patients or GP practices as #DataControllers being informed.
Who is making / being consulted on these decisions?
