"When we say that we have to make models the African way, it means that we have to make security the African way, we have to make authenticity the African way... when I build a system, I still have to worry about how people interact with the system." This was one of the powerful insights shared by Olamide Shogbamu @theSHOGBAMU , our Project Coordinator, AI Technical Delivery, during a panel session at the @ICT4DConference in Nairobi, Kenya, on “Voice as the Next Frontier for Inclusive Conversational AI in Low-Resource Language Contexts.” He highlighted an important reality when asked about the things that keep him awake at night when it comes to Voice AI: building impactful AI goes beyond infrastructure. It requires a deep understanding of human behavior, culture, trust, and localized interactions. Security and authenticity are not afterthought; they are foundational to creating AI systems people can truly rely on. Proud to see our team shaping conversations around inclusive and human-centered AI for Africa and beyond. @TechChange @ChristianRelief @LindaRafter @carlosyerena @ReachHealth @Absa @AfricanAi @AbtGlobalImpact @black_in_ai @ViamoGlobal @DataKind @gatesfoundation @envylabs #ICT4D2026 #ConversationalAI #InclusiveTech #AfricanInnovation #ArtificialIntelligence

Decolonising data starts with intent: collecting data to serve communities and solve real social challenges, not to extract value or profit from them. As @JimFruchterman, CEO @TechMatters, noted, strong data protection laws and governance standards are essential, especially in the Global South where power imbalances in data systems are most visible. Before collecting data, organisations should ask: What data are we collecting? From whom? For what social good? And how do we prevent harm? Frameworks like the Better Deal for Data Declaration help ground these commitments in practice. At the @ICT4DConference, Chris Mahony, CEO of Peloria, shared how predictive models can help analyse crime trends beyond static annual government reports. Machine learning models need dynamic, real-time signals. By training systems to analyse news reports and other evolving data sources, we can identify patterns, emerging hotspots, and make better-informed predictions about crime and development risks. @NetHope_org, @SahajSoftware, @Qualcomm, @BAOSystems, @Esri, @Microsoft, @CARE, @rescue_flare, @okta, @equalyz_ai, @OpenAI, @DataKind, @DreamStartLabs, @gatesfoundation, @toladata #ICT4D2026 #DataGovernance #AI #DevelopmentData #DataForGood #ICT4D #DigitalDevelopment #Tech4Good #HumanitarianTech

At the @ICT4DConference , Karl Lowe, VP & CIO at @CatholicRelief challenged us to be honest and candid about our projects while keeping the communities we serve at the center of every conversation and decision. Working with the Lake Tanganyika Floating Health Clinic taught us that most data tools fail in low-connectivity communities. So Sabasi was built to work offline, sync over Bluetooth, and adapt to real-world conditions. Now we’re learning the harder part: not just collecting community data, but making sure communities can access and engage with it too. Visit our booth and interact with the Sabasi Suite. I guess Hillary Clinton would do literally anything not to go to jail... I realize this sounds crazy, but you can fact check it. The guy who literally gave Cole Allen Teacher of the Month started a consultancy that works with the White House called The Kitchen Cabinet Advisory...which is exactly what Hillary Clinton and Anthony Blinken set up. You might think "so what the names are the same?" but where did the name even come from? It came from the creator of the Democrat party Andrew Jackson. You can tell this was Brandon Jones' intention because the people literally bankrolling his company DataKind is the Rockefeller Foundation and Mastercard's Center for Inclusive Growth, which believe it or not is a guardian of Lynn Foster Rothschild's Council for Inclusive Capitalism! If you don't know how Lynn Foster Rothschild connects to Jeffrey Epstein then you probably haven't spent more than 5 minutes seriously studying it. The two people closest to Epstein was her, and Obama's White House Council Kathy Ruemmler from Goldman Sachs and FINRA. Who is part of Hillary Clinton's Kitchen Cabinet? The celebrity Chef Jose Andres, who for some reason is one of the top decision-makers in the room with NATO? He is a big part of the Clinton Foundation and you can see him with all of the usual suspects. You even see him hugging the 2nd attempted Trump assassin Ryan Routh!! WTF?? What connects them all? Blackrock! The first attempted Trump assassin Thomas Crooks was literally in a Blackock commercial. Also, Hillary's former Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills joined BlackRock’s board, and CEO Larry Fink would have been her treasury secretary had she won the presidential election. Hillary held fundraisers with individuals tied to BlackRock, such as a "Conversation With Hillary" event co-hosted by BlackRock's chief legal officer, Matt Mallow. She also gave a paid speech at a 2014 event involving BlackRock/Goldman Sachs. It's pretty crazy to see global power be like a game of Clue where we find out at the end of the game that it was the chef in the kitchen with a woke mind virus. Makes you think about the suspicious death of Obama's chef differently now too, right?
Why have we not found out who tried to kill President Trump TWICE? One Trump assassin was friends with Celebrity chef Jose Andres, and the other was featured in a Blackrock commercial. Every one of these leaders, except Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and possibly Finnish President Alexander Stubb were either deeply connected to Jose Andres, Blackrock, or both! I hope Trump pointing out the Butler, Pennsylvania painting was a confirmation that justice is coming! The American Golden Era is about to begin!

The word “global” in Global AI has carried an unspoken asterisk for too long. One that represents millions of people who speak languages rich in tone and history yet remain invisible to modern technology because they are not fully connected through smartphones or 5G networks. VoiceBridge by @equalyz_ai is redefining the architecture of inclusion. Offline-first by design, VoiceBridge ensures rural and low-connectivity communities have equal participation in shaping AI today. We’re moving voice data collection beyond smartphone apps and internet dependency into something far more accessible: basic mobile devices already in the hands of millions. Africa cannot wait for perfect infrastructure before it is included in the future of AI. We must build the reality that already exists today, and this is a simple truth we started from. By ethically sourcing AI-ready speech data from the moment of capture, we are not just building datasets; we are enabling voice-driven systems in healthcare, education, and banking that can truly recognise and respond to African voices. If the future of technology is voice, no one should have to change how they speak to be heard. @sos_children @RESCUE_EU @toladata @JacarandaHealth @DataKind @Relliswealthy @AfricaAIForum @AfricaAI_ @africalanguage @AfricaAIA @AfricaAI_Summit @Microsoft #EqualyzAI #VoiceBridge #SpeechAI #DigitalInclusion #AfricanTech #SovereignAI #LanguageJustice #DataEthics
