Very happy for the two orgs involved; slightly dismayed (though I am trying to remain optimistic!) that my two favorite parts of my devprod toolchain are owned by frontier lab companies

"devprod"
our research devprod team is hiring: jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai/form…! highly recommended if you care deeply about the craft of how software is produced and want to help people do it at large scale. as agents are helping people write far more code, our limiting factor is increasingly becoming the tooling and infrastructure that researchers move fast without breaking things. you'll work on problems spanning large-scale CI and test infrastructure, monorepo tooling, build and packaging systems, GPU- and ML-aware toolchains (though no experience in these areas required), and the full path from research experiments to production. apply now, it's a super high-leverage and impactful team with great people.

BLOG 👉 "The developer productivity paradox: Why faster coding doesn’t mean faster software delivery", by @trisha_gee gradle.com/blog/developer-pr… A key theme and major challenge that emerged from #DPESummit 2025 is the Developer Productivity Paradox—developers are using Generative AI to crank out code faster than ever before, but somehow, the metrics aren’t showing an overall productivity improvement. 🤔 #AI #DevProd #DevEx #DORA #ProductivityParadox #GenAI

i swear i'm basically making an ai devprod half the time anyway at this point because this is the way.

googlers are going to be so unbearably smug when everyone realizes the best way to use ai coding agents is in a large monorepo with all dependencies vendored into third_party and very strict coding guidelines. y'all better get ready to learn bazel

Good article. Also why devprod is absolutely some of my favorite work. Its one of the easiest things to cash money justify. People just stop at the build times and graphs and don’t see the full picture. i am LOUD when im doing basically massive arbitrage hunting.
