Hot Take (Part 2): Most developers burn out before they level up, not because the work is hard, but because the way they work is unsustainable. Here’s what I mean: Developers today are: - Trying to learn everything at once - Working long hours with no clear direction - Comparing their progress to people online - Building with pressure instead of curiosity Burnout doesn’t always come from workload. It often comes from lack of clarity. When you don’t know: •What to focus on •What success looks like •What to ignore •What to say “no” to You end up exhausted, not improved. Here’s the mindset shift that changed everything for me: You don’t need to learn fast. You need to learn intentionally. Slow, steady, consistent growth beats chaotic hustle every single time. Burnout happens when you try to be everywhere. Leveling up happens when you choose where to be. What’s one habit you stopped that instantly reduced burnout? 👇🏾 Let’s help each other grow smarter, not harder. #HotTake #DeveloperBurnout #CareerGrowth #SoftwareEngineering #TechMindset #MichealCodes

Hot Take: Most developers don’t have a “skill problem.” They have a focus problem. Everyday I see developers: - Starting 5 tutorials at once - Switching between 3 frameworks - Learning 10 things but mastering none - Chasing whatever is trending on tech Twitter And then they wonder why they’re stuck. Here’s the truth many won’t admit: Your progress is not limited by what you don’t know. It’s limited by what you don’t stick with. Real growth happens when you: •Pick ONE language to go deep in •Pick ONE area to specialize in •Pick ONE project to finish •Pick ONE habit to stay consistent with Everyone wants to be “multitalented” but the market rewards people who are excellent at something specific. Focus isn’t a soft skill. It’s a competitive advantage. Agree or disagree? 👇🏾 Let’s argue respectfully in the comments.

The Burnout That Broke Me I WAS A SENIOR DEVELOPER BURNED OUT ON BUILDING THINGS I DIDN’T BELIEVE IN—UNTIL AI CHANGED EVERYTHING. Half a year ago, I walked away from my job as a Senior Backend Developer—and I honestly want to thank @andrebrov for that. You kicked me out, and in doing so, gave me the greatest opportunity I’ve had: the chance to finally start building the things I’d dreamed about for years but was too afraid to chase. After more than a decade of building software for projects I didn’t believe in, I’d hit a wall. I’ve never been someone who can fake interest—if I’m not fully invested in the vision or the ownership, it just doesn’t work for me. And for ten long years, I was stuck in that exact loop. The reality of software development was brutal: • Endless hours in front of the screen. • Constant pressure from managers. • Shipping features I didn’t care about. • Living under the illusion that someday, I’d build something meaningful. Someday. But someday never came—just burnout after burnout. 😔 (1/6) #DeveloperBurnout #TechLife Continue reading ⬇️
