The Burnout That Broke Me
I WAS A SENIOR DEVELOPER BURNED OUT ON BUILDING THINGS I DIDN’T BELIEVE IN—UNTIL AI CHANGED EVERYTHING.
Half a year ago, I walked away from my job as a Senior Backend Developer—and I honestly want to thank
@andrebrov for that. You kicked me out, and in doing so, gave me the greatest opportunity I’ve had: the chance to finally start building the things I’d dreamed about for years but was too afraid to chase.
After more than a decade of building software for projects I didn’t believe in, I’d hit a wall. I’ve never been someone who can fake interest—if I’m not fully invested in the vision or the ownership, it just doesn’t work for me. And for ten long years, I was stuck in that exact loop.
The reality of software development was brutal:
• Endless hours in front of the screen.
• Constant pressure from managers.
• Shipping features I didn’t care about.
• Living under the illusion that someday, I’d build something meaningful. Someday.
But someday never came—just burnout after burnout. 😔
