It's lovely that you admired her as a friend and supported her charity but you do not live up to her values, ethics, morals and what she stood for yourself, her whole life's work. You find it sweet! As this is the extent of what you had to say about her actual cause in life...
"Sometimes she’d very, very gently suggest to me veganism, which I always found sweet"...
Please do better!
You don't seem to truly appreciate the meaning of her whole life's work, maybe try to do a little better now in her memory and honour, if not for the animals! Which is, All for one and one for all!!!
There was almost no Vegan food available anywhere at Ape Fest, maybe bananas 🙄you realise it's the most versatile type of food any menu can have right?! Every religion can eat vegan food it's kosher, halal, Buddhist etc. (FYI a single option is also not enough just like it wouldn't be for you or anyone if they showed up anywhere.)
In fact if you care about animals at all & Janes work, why not make Ape Fest vegan this year!?
Make an actual difference directly yourself in a way that she would have loved and deeply appreciated.
You gave money to a single mission but you have not done something yourself in your own life directly making a change or a difference, that costs nothing, it's free to do, for the wider cause, teaching and change she believed in and taught us! As the difference starts inside of you, not outside of you with your wallet!
It's never too late to make a real difference yourself as the only things we can truly change is ourselves.
Apes don't kill Apes!
Apes don't kill other Animals!!
Apes together strong!!? 🦍

Jane Goodall was a Vegan Animal Rights Activist! If you supported her at all, then maybe start by making a change at home first and foremost in her honour, rather than a post on X cause you think sending money negates the harm you cause to animals. That's some food for thought!🙏🏼
