Unity severely fumbled the ball around 2017-18 trying to pivot to the DataOrientedTechStack and EntityComponentSystem which are still buggy and missing features seven years later. Plus all the reorganizations, pricing changes, management strategy etc. It’s a total mess

No, I can't do more to optimize the erase (and the clear and a handful of other methods). Then 0.054s -> 0.029s for 1M elements and you immediately feel like a poor programmer who has yet to learn a lot. #entt #gamedev #indiedev #entitycomponentsystem #cpp #moderncpp #opensource
