Local activists are launching 3 impact measurement studies across regions in East Africa where over 95% of girls are mutilated. Supported by impact measurement experts at Vivid Research and DataMill, local researchers are gathering qualitative and quantitative data across Somalia and Kenya to understand where attitudes towards FGM stand before the frontline-led campaign rolls out. A baseline survey was carried out this week by local partners at the @IfrahFoundation in Galmadug, Somalia, as they prepare to bring the Born Perfect Caravans to FGM hot-spot communities in the region. In the Kenyan regions of Wajir and Garissa, local activists are doing the same. This is how we measure what works, and what doesn't. Yet, too often, programmes run without their real impact being measured. This summer, grassroots activists will be joined by local influencers and travel village to village with news of the recent FGM bans, bringing legal, religious and medical messaging directly to communities where girls are vulnerable to mutilation. Donate here to keep the Born Perfect wheels rolling across Africa: globalmediacampaign.org/dona… #EndFGM #BornPerfectCaravans #Somalia #GirlsRights #EvidenceForImpact

Referrals now open | Summer Jobs Programme 2026 @UKYouth Summer Jobs Programme offers a paid and supported 5-week summer work placement for young people aged 16–20 who are at risk of violence. The programme provides a safe, structured summer opportunity, combining paid work with youth worker support to help reduce exposure to violence and support positive pathways into education, training and employment. Funded by the Youth Endowment Fund and the @YF_Foundation, the programme forms part of a wider effort to strengthen the evidence base on what works in youth violence prevention and youth employment. In 2024-25, the programme supported over 800 young people, and aims to engage a further 860 young people in 2026. We’re inviting youth organisations, community partners and local services to help share this opportunity and support referrals. Young people may also self-refer where appropriate. Locations across England and Wales 🗓 Referral deadline: 8 May 2026 Find out more and refer here: ukyouth.org/what-we-do/our-p… #YouthEmploymentUK #YouthViolencePrevention #YouthWorkMatters #PositivePathways #SkillsForLife #EvidenceForImpact #YouthOpportunity #NextGenWorkforce #SocialImpact

On @UNICEF Day, we pause to reflect on our shared commitment to children’s rights and the power of evidence to drive change. 💖 At the heart of UNICEF’s mission is the belief that every child deserves a fair chance. @UNICEFEval plays a critical role in making that vision a reality by generating credible evidence, fostering learning, and strengthening accountability across all areas of our work. Whether responding to humanitarian crises, advancing climate resilience, promoting gender equality, improving access to safe water and sanitation, or protecting children from harm, evaluations help us understand what works, what doesn’t, and how we can do better. By amplifying voices from the field and informing strategic decisions, the Evaluation Function ensures that UNICEF’s programmes deliver meaningful and measurable results for children especially in the most complex and fragile settings. For every child, trusted evidence driving impact! 🔗 Visit unicef.org/evaluation/ to learn more about @UNICEFEval. #UNICEFDay #EvaluationMatters #ForEveryChild #EvidenceForImpact #UNICEF #Evaluation #ThoughtLeadership
