Cristiana Bársony-Arcidiacono, the British-educated Hungarian businesswoman linked to the plot involving exploding pagers in Lebanon, has denied any knowledge of the alleged Mossad operation. According to company records, Bársony-Arcidiacono, 49, set up her Budapest-based firm BAC Consulting in May 2022. The company has been accused of being part of a web of shell companies tied to Israeli intelligence, according to The New York Times.
When questioned, Bársony-Arcidiacono told reporters: "I don't make the beepers. I'm just the intermediary. I think you have misunderstood." She has since gone into hiding.
Her former boyfriend described her as "vague" about her business activities, recalling that she often referred to her work as "trading as usual" without providing specific details. Bársony-Arcidiacono, originally from Catania, Sicily, reportedly listed her late grandmother's address in Budapest as her business address.
As the investigation into the plot deepens, questions remain about the exact role Bársony-Arcidiacono and her company played in the distribution of the pagers that exploded across Lebanon, killing several Hezbollah members.
