🇮🇳 Honouring a Braveheart by BSF Academy, Gwalior 🇮🇳 BSF Academy, Gwalior paid solemn tribute to Martyr CT Rambabu Singh (Regt No. 900014033), 137 Bn BSF, who laid down his life in the line of duty on 19 April 1994 at Srinagar while performing Counter Insurgency (CI) operations. Born on 01 February 1971, he joined the BSF on 16 April 1990 and served the Nation with unwavering dedication. On the fateful day, troops of 137 Bn BSF, returning from a joint cordon and search operation in Shalimar area, came under heavy fire from militants. CT Rambabu Singh, who was travelling in a 1½ ton vehicle, sustained a bullet injury to the chest and succumbed to his injuries while being evacuated to 92 Base Hospital. In a dignified ceremony, on behalf of Director BSF Academy, Gwalior, felicitated and honoured the Veer Nari Smt. Sudha Devi, at her residence in Gwalior, conveying deep gratitude for the supreme sacrifice made by the braveheart. The ceremony was attended by 01 Officer, 02 SOs, and 08 ORs,from BSF Academy Gwalior along with civilian dignitaries and relatives. As a mark of respect and gratitude, the NOK, Smt Sudha Devi, was felicitated with a shawl and bouquet. Officers present conveyed their heartfelt condolences and assured continued support to the bereaved family. The residents of this border area village have projected their challenges of day to day life, with their cohabitants in border area, the BSF. Focusing the immediate administrative requirements, BSF battalion has extended help of RO water purification systems, water dispensers, water storage tanks and for empowering the youth, items like sports kits and other educational aid have been provided.
