Spent the whole night hugging Unity Profiler with Codex, chasing every ugly frame spike in my indie game Mobster Madness 😩 I tracked down massive hitches from traffic spawns, NPC spawns, first-shot weapon audio loads, runtime debug junk, and hot-path Instantiate/AddComponent fallbacks. Result: cleaner production paths, stricter spawn budgets, less garbage in combat, and a much clearer roadmap to stable mobile FPS. 🔥🔥🔥 This is the real indie loop: profile -> cut waste -> test -> repeat. Monster Hunter Wilds doubled their Level of Detail models from 4 to 8. The visual improvement is in the smoother transitions as creatures move toward and away from the camera. But here is the smart part: file sizes barely changed. The quematrice mesh went from 26MB to 28MB. This is optimisation done right. Most of the geometric detail lives in the first few LOD levels where you actually see it. The distant LODs can be aggressively simplified because nobody's looking at individual triangles from 500 meters away. #GameOptimization #LOD #GameDev #3DModeling #3D
