Why does #GenderNeutralLanguage matter?

#Genderneutrallanguage helps us avoid using words that could be demeaning and perpetuates the system in which men hold power over everything. A way to respect someone's gender identity is to ask for & use their preferred #pronouns rather than assuming it solely on appearance.
