According to a filing obtained by Axios, Palantir claims the DIA is wasting taxpayer money in trying to build MARS from scratch, with unreliable results, rather than opting for a commercial solution.
This reminds me of DCGS in 2016, where Palantir argued the same thing: federal procurement rules were being ignored in favor of custom in-house builds that were inferior to commercial offerings. Palantir won and the Army had to scrap the non-commercial approach and start actually considering commercial offerings.
