But look at the actual data across the board: It’s not happening. Graduation rates are UP. 📈 Literacy rates are DOWN. 📉 How does that even intertwine? How can a school district boast an 85% or 87% graduation rate when only 55% of those students can actually read at grade level? Shouldn’t being able to read and write at grade level be an absolute condition of graduating high school? Not if you’re using "grading for equity."
