In surgical robotics news $JNJ has submitted their #Ottava system for FDA De Novo approval—earlier than expected (Q1 2026 was the whisper). This positions J&J alongside $ISRG (#daVinci) and $MDT (#HugoRAS) as potentially (key word as soft tissue robot market is >90% Intuitive right now) a major player in the US market. Unique bed-integrated design with table motion. After some past stumbles, they're on track: IDE started late 2024, first upper GI cases done, now targeting gastric bypass/sleeve, small bowel, hiatal hernia, hernia IDE incoming. Since this is America and it’s JNJ, I am sure that they will place systems. The real question is - will they make a meaningful dent in ISRGs dominance? that’s a tall order. #MedTech #RoboticSurgery

Co to oznacza dla chorych? ➡️ Szybszy powrót do zdrowia: mniej inwazyjne zabiegi oznaczają krótszy okres rekonwalescencji. ➡️ Mniejsze ryzyko powikłań: precyzja robota minimalizuje ryzyko niepożądanych zdarzeń. ➡️ Krótszy czas hospitalizacji: pacjenci będą mogli szybciej wrócić do domu. Koszt robota to 17 mln zł, a całe przedsięwzięcie modernizacji instytutu to prawie 139,5 mln zł.
