Solid news for those @JSE_Group stocks with a tourism & leisure focus like $JSECLH City Lodge Holdings, $JSESSU Southern Sun Hotels and $JSECMH Combined Motor Holdings (where their First Car Rentals division is a significant profit contributor to group)
Worth watching the inbound summer figures though I wonder how much better could it have been as some gloss must have been removed from some traveller's pockets by the stronger rand year-on-year

Well there goes that faint possibility
The market got very excited a couple of years ago when entities linked to $JSEHCI Hosken Consolidated Investments built up a 10% stake in embattled hotelier $JSECLH City Lodge Hotels
Well, today those same entities state they have sold out of much of their joint stake and only have 3% left in #CLH
Doesn't look like they made a material turn on their stake at all if memory serves

Been lots of talk around this stock for some time now. Corporate action? Turnaround?

$JSECLH is expected to report on 11/09/24, next Wednesday, There seems to be some positioning going on; volumes were up 72% MoM in August and price is up 9.89%.
The majority was done towards the end of August.
I will provide BBG estimates later this week along with next week's earnings.

Is that $JSECLH starting to get some love from institutions?
Seeing a potential Impulsive structure developing above 410c - with the first wave target of 660c.
My Insight:
Institutions can't hide their buying/selling in small caps, it can provide some indicators of accumulation or distribution.
i.e. when to get in/out
This share has been dormant since Oct 21, which could create a flurry of buying in a breakout above R5.
*Small/mid-caps can provide liquidity issues and therefore carry more risk, and you must know your risk appetite when dealing with riskier assets.

I really hope so. $JSECLH City Lodge really needs a strong catalyst to propel the share price.

Occupancy averaging over 62% for the last 5 months.
Holidays still incoming.
Room rates are 9% up from lasts year.
Food and beverage doing great 44%
Cash in bank R100mil.
Backup electricity at 41 hotels.

City Lodge - in last 12 months occupanciea up from 51% to 63% and room rates charged up by 21% on 12 months ago - these two variable have a massive multiplier affect on revenue & earnings. On top of that 20% of hotel's now run off solar. Mgmt delivering here!
