As learning extends across longer timeframes, another issue becomes more visible. People move through courses, change roles, acquire new knowledge, but the connection between these steps is often unclear. Progress is happening, but it is difficult to understand what has actually improved and how capability is evolving over time. Without this visibility, learning becomes fragmented in a different way. Not because it is disconnected, but because it is not clearly observable. Activity increases, but direction becomes harder to define. This is where many learning systems begin to break down. They deliver knowledge, but they do not maintain a clear view of development across stages. For learning to function over longer horizons, progression cannot remain implicit. It needs to be visible, measurable, and consistently connected.
