To facilitate access to basic services, enhance the resilience of vulnerable families, and improve their food security, work was launched to pave the Naqil Al-Maafda Al-Aliya road in Al-Abruh isolation in Sabra district, Ibb governorate, through the cash-for-rehabilitation mechanism, in cooperation with local authorities in identifying the needs of communities, and utilizing available resources. This comes as part of the “Building Resilience in Yemen through Community-Based Integrated Humanitarian Transformation and Leadership Systems (BRIGHTLY) Project.” Implemented by the Tamdeen Youth Foundation in partnership with Oxfam, and funded by the Fund for Development Assistance (FCDO). The project includes the stone paving of the Naqeel Al Maafda road, 370 linear meters, and the additional leveling of the road with a length of 550 meters, benefiting 1507 residents of the area, and providing temporary employment opportunities for 106 members of the local community, which contributes to supporting livelihoods and improving the living conditions of the beneficiary families. #local_development #Yemen

The project includes the construction of a concrete water tank with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters, installation of a liquefaction line, and a distribution network of 3,500 meters. This project has received great attention from the local authority and has been prioritized to reduce the water crisis in Ibb, which is the third most populous governorate in Yemen and the third in terms of the need for water services, which has been exacerbated by rapid population growth and its embrace of tens of thousands of displaced people from other governorates due to the war. Aden: TYF's Director Meets the Minister of Local Administration to Discuss Participatory Coordination Yesterday, in #Aden, Mr. Nashwan Al Qubati, Director of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, met with His Excellency the Minister of Local Administration Hussein Al Aghbari, and discussed together coordination in participatory planning, linking humanitarian interventions to economic recovery, and empowering communities with sustainable livelihoods. In the meeting, Minister Al Aghbari praised TYF's work. He also stressed the Ministry's keenness to a genuine partnership with active local organizations, and to provide the necessary facilities to ensure that their programs and projects are implemented as required, noting that local organizations are partners with the government in construction and development.
