Nobody minds? Come on 🤣
If a political leaflet made a broad cultural statement about the English in order to garner votes ie "We English know what X is all about", you're telling me there wouldn't be uproar about it?
And yes of course they do. They pay no value whatsoever to British culture and dilute it into the "universal human being" whenever it is politically convenient - Britain to them is tolerating everyone else but ourselves.
They have no problem making distinctions about ethnic minorities but can't bring themselves to acknowledge who we are.
Simply acknowledging who we are (White British ie native) and wanting to maintain that, as well as prioritise us as a group politically, is perceived as racism despite it being normal everywhere else in the world, outside of Western democracies.
Circling back round to my original point, it's ludicrous when you realise that we can make acute and localised distinctions such as North/South culturally, because it's a white vs. white comparison, but we struggle to agree on the obvious distinctions at a national level and beyond.
