What does effective maths improvement look like in practice?
Our action research with @NWmathshub3 reinforces a simple but powerful idea:
👉 Impact comes from alignment.
Mathematics Mastery Primary and the NW3 Maths Hub Mastery Readiness work group have shared principles. Doing both together meant schools got even more:
➡️ Curriculum and teaching resources
➡️ Specialist support
➡️ Coordinated CPD
➡️ Peer-to-peer encouragement
This wasn’t about adding work. It was about accelerating the journey to teaching for mastery, and all the benefits that brings, together.

We’re back for the afternoon! 🙌
Tom Manners had the room buzzing on Strategies to Prevent Misconceptions - why they arise, how to bust them, and a modelling framework to take straight back to school. #MathsCPD#MathsTeaching#DaisyEducationMathsSummit#MathsLeadership
What a way to end the morning! 🙌 Sarah Toft got us hands-on with the Rekenrek - exploring how the tool builds number sense, fluency and confidence in pupils. Brilliant session with real classroom examples that showed exactly how children think 🧮 #MathsTeaching#PrimaryMaths
What a session! 🙌 Are we truly teaching young learners to be both efficient AND flexible with numbers? Lisa Heatherington showed how mathematical observance helps children choose the right strategy - not just any strategy. #MathsTeaching#PrimaryMaths
