In this episode of Stay Sharp: Digital Engineering, Juliann Grant and Jonathan Scott explore one of manufacturing’s most misunderstood opportunities: the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).
Joined by Steve Nichols (Razorleaf) and John Biagioni (Lampin Corporation), they break down how companies of any size—from small shops to large enterprises—can enter and compete in this critical space.
With deep expertise spanning technology, operations, and real-world manufacturing, this conversation delivers a clear path for getting started in the DIB.

NVIDIA and Dassault Systèmes launch an industrial AI platform to bring physics-grounded virtual twins into design, simulation, and operations.
Highlights
• Partnership combines Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE and Virtual Twin with NVIDIA accelerated computing and Omniverse to build physics-grounded world models.
• Scope spans science, engineering, and factory operations, using models to design, verify, and run systems before deployment.
• OUTSCALE will deploy NVIDIA-powered AI factories in sovereign cloud regions to meet data residency and regulated-industry needs.
• Why it matters: turn days of simulation into interactive workflows, speed compliance, and shorten design-to-manufacturing handoffs.
• In practice: plan graphics processing unit (GPU)-rich edge, private 5G with time-sensitive networking, and consistent security to link twins to machines and plants.

🔔 🔔 Engineering Intelligence Empowers Design Assurance Governance for Advanced Manufacturing — AEGIS-TVC
linkedin.com/pulse/engineeri…
🟣 Advanced manufacturing is no longer limited by intelligence or data — it is limited by assurance. Systems now change faster than traditional governance can observe, explain, or reverse.
🟠 AEGIS-TVC introduces governed epistemic state evolution as the core mechanism of design assurance. Rather than promoting plausible AI or digital-twin outputs directly into operational reality, the architecture enforces a strict separation between proposal, verification, and commitment.
🟢 At its core, ARC (Agentic Reasoning Coherence) operates as a physics-first governing law: only updates that are physically admissible, causally coherent, and uncertainty-bounded are allowed to commit. Non-admissible updates are explicitly rejected with rollback to the last coherent checkpoint.
🔵 Commitment is never implicit. It is evidence-gated and immutably anchored via a K-Ledger, producing replayable receipts for audit, traceability, and controlled reuse.
🔵 The result is an engineering intelligence architecture where change is fast but never silent — reversible by design and auditable by construction.
