Pope Leo XIV's Dilexi te declares faith inseparable from love for the poor. Drawing from Scripture and tradition, it condemns "structures of sin" in economies that exploit workers through unjust wages and financial speculation, widening inequality. The prophets denounced usury alongside every injustice toward the vulnerable (cf. Is 58:6). Christ identified with the suffering; the Church must prioritize the plight of the poor, denouncing a "dictatorship of an economy that kills" (para. 92). Wealth must serve the common good—no surplus when others lack necessities (Gaudium et Spes, 26). Christians, act: dismantle usury.
