#DogmatismeBonjour

Really proud of my (few) colleagues in #EPO’s PDComm in #Munich. This chocalate is there since Monday and still untouched #resilience #selfcontrol #iguessummeriscoming 😜

The PD COMM #trial closed to recruitment due to the impact of COVID restrictions and we are now completing 12 month follow ups. Analysis of results this summer and a virtual meeting later this year. Look out for trial publications later this year and into 2022 #PDCOMM #SLT

Great to join the @PDCOMM_trial today evaluating SLT intervention for people with Parkinson's. I'm a bit late to the party but excited to get started! 🧠💬 #Research #SLT #PDCOMM #Dysarthria #ParkinsonsDisease

Great to hear that #PDCOMM is having this effect: "we would strongly recommend the experience to any SLT thinking of being involved in any research trial." Thanks for all your efforts @SltLucy and @hannah_treloar!

Agreed. We've been able to raise awareness of #PDCOMM through @rcslt_bulletin, the @RCSLTResearch Research Champions network and the research newsletter to name a few. Hopefully PD COMM has bred some new research champions! #RDSRCSLT19
@RPalmerSLT @AmitSaLT @RCSLTResearch @RCSLTpolicy discuss support #RCSLT offer with #research including letters of support, representation & sharing. So valuable having professional body engagement. I’ve found the research newsletter so valuable! #RDSRCSLT19 #research #slpeeps

Replying to @RCSLTResearch
This will probably be a surprise to @cristina_mckean - although she could tell you a lot about research funding, we have Twitter newbie @csmithUCL at #RDSRCSLT19 for #PDCOMM today:)

Hear hear! The content of 'usual care' is understudied and we need more SLT intervention description. One of the things we are doing in #PDCOMM is using trial paperwork and therapy notes to describe similarities and differences between the two routine interventions #RDSRCSLT19
@OliverZangwill founder Prof Barbara Wilson contends that all of our clinical activity should be worthy of writing up. This is a challenging ambition! My suggestion is to plot research that is very close to your routine work.

Parkinson's Nurse Specialists have done so much to help #PDCOMM build the evidence for speech and language therapy, so it's great to see the USP Project will be building the evidence for the scope and value of their work. Views of PNS, people with Parkinson's and families sought
USP Project is now live. Calling all nurses working with PwP to take part in this important project. Follow link: northumbria.ac.uk/parkinsons… #parkinsonsnu #parkinsonsUSP #parkinsonsUK

#PDCOMM is not only taking place in the NHS, but is investigating two routine speech and language therapy interventions. It's worth adding that quality of life of people with Parkinson's in future depends on both lab and NHS-based studies.
As part of our #YourPathInResearch campaign, we are dispelling some common myths around healthcare research. Myth #5: Research happens in labs, not the NHS.... Find out more here bit.ly/33FjFut
