Their refusal to recognize state accreditation is the reason California’s not joining. I’d actually like PsyPact to require New York’s EPPP standard (I think it’s the highest)

Wait I thought legislation was in process for NY, did something happen? I think PsyPact is great for patient choice. It’s rad for rural communities and there’s continuity of care for people who travel for work or move.

Was about to apply for that psypact inter state license when I learned NYS has not agreed to it. I did some research and understand why. I completely agree. Keep it out of NYS lest the on demand virtual therapy mills actually approach profit.

Time for nationwide licenses. We needed this 6 years ago. We need it today. Not just PsyPact psychologists in participating states. Every license type. MFT, LPC, LCSW, you name it. People are dropping out of the field or switching to coaching or breaking laws.

A quick professional update: my PSYPACT (APIT) authorization has been renewed, allowing me to continue offering telepsychology across PSYPACT participating jurisdictions. This helps support continuity of care for clients across state lines when life, work, or relocation gets in the way.
