Afroscots United has always been more than just a football team — we’ve been pioneers. Long before it became the norm, Afroscots was leading the way by organising friendly matches against professional clubs, creating rare opportunities for grassroots players to test themselves at the highest level. We gave young talents a platform to shine, to be seen, and to believe that their dreams were valid. Many went on to play professionally, while others found confidence and direction through the experiences we offered. Our journey inspired others to follow suit, opening doors and setting a standard across the community. We’re proud of the legacy we continue to build — one that champions opportunity, ambition, and belief. 💛🖤 #AfroscotsUnited #PathwayToProgress #Pioneers #FootballForChange #InspirationInAction

📣 𝗛𝗨𝗚𝗘 𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗬 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 📣 We’re proud to confirm that @GMEvans has stepped into a full-time role as Academy Manager at @CamUtdMen! 🔵⚪ Gareth has been a valued part of our Academy setup for several years on a part-time basis — and now, as we continue to evolve, he takes the lead in a full-time capacity. This is a major statement of intent from the Board and marks a key milestone in our long-term football vision. With our Category B status confirmed for the 2025/26 season, Gareth will be instrumental in driving forward our goal of achieving Category A Academy accreditation — a cornerstone of our One Club strategy to create a seamless, high-performance pathway from grassroots to senior football. This appointment reflects our deep commitment to youth development, community, and excellence both on and off the pitch. Welcome officially, Gareth — let’s build the future together! 🙌 #CambrianUnited #CamArmyUnited #AcademyManager #OneClub #InvestingInYouth #PathwayToProgress

During #CSOWeek2025, @HakiElimu had the opportunity to present findings from its 2024 study titled: “Experiences and Practices of Reintegrating Teenage Mothers into Formal Secondary Schools in Tanzania.” The presentation offered a deep and human-centered perspective on the realities faced by teenage mothers—highlighting their struggles with childcare, social stigma, lack of support from school leadership, poverty, and limited access to clear information about their right to return to school. Key barriers identified include community rejection, discrimination in schools, poverty, and the absence of proper childcare services, all of which hinder girls from making use of the opportunity to continue their education. The core message was clear: Returning to school empowers girls to pursue their educational dreams. #WikiyaAzaki2025 #PathwayToProgress #CSOWeek2025

Day 2 of CSOs Week 2025: Unpacking “Money, Power, and Agency” 💰⚖️🗣️ Day two spotlighted a bold and timely conversation led by Viveka Carlestam from Sida/Swedish Embassy, focusing on the critical interplay between funding, influence, and local agency in development cooperation. 📌 The session delved deep into the OECD/DAC Recommendations on Enabling Civil Society, highlighting how local CSOs are actively leveraging these policy frameworks while demanding accountability from OECD member states, shifting the narrative from aid recipients to empowered change-makers. 🎙️ Following the presentation, a thought-provoking podcast dialogue brought together key voices from the civic space, including THRDC National Coordinator, Adv. Onesmo Olengurumwa, who shared insights on: •The structural power imbalances in donor-recipient relationships; •Opportunities for direct funding to local CSOs; •Strategies for strengthening civic agency and challenging the status quo. 💬 The conversation affirmed that local civil society is not on the sidelines — we are central to sustainable development, democratic governance, and social justice. Money must follow power, and power must uplift local agency. #CSOsWeek2025 #PathwayToProgress
