Most coffee bags are not readily compostable being made of paper with a thin plastic coating. Some are, e.g. Sainsbury’s own brand, but these come in individual plasticised wrappers. Coffee pods can be recycled via Nespresso’s postal scheme and Podback collection points.

We're currently trialing the Podback scheme at our Maidenhead branch and are hoping to open the offer into a larger number of shops. There are no immediate plans to expand, but it's something we're keeping a close eye on. ^Paul

@AsdaServiceTeam Hi, I have read on your website about your partnership with Podback to recycle coffee pods. I have been to my local ASDA at Rochdale Dane St with some pods for recycling and they know nothing about this, including the store manager
