Here are *all* the videos from PyBay 2025. I loved the talks by Pamela Fox (bees!) and Glyph (open source project advice).

Even @gvanrossum , the creator of Python, is now using large language models like Claude to write code. At PyBay 2025, he talked about his work on Structured RAG, which improves on traditional RAG by being faster, more accurate, and capable of handling more complex conversations. We are excited to bring Structured RAG ideas into our own custom pipeline.

My PyBay talk recording is up! “Just because AI can write your tests… should it?” youtu.be/Lha1741iEjE It starts with a tangent about honeybees vs native bees, but I swear, I found a way to relate that topic to the talk. Enjoy! 🐝

At the 10th PyBay community conference in San Francisco, I had the honor of interviewing Guido van Rossum, the creator of the Python programming language, for Neo4j Fika AI series. I've written about it on DevReal, a community resource for DevRel advocates in AI. We talk about AI, RAG, Functional Programming (whether Guido likes it), vibe coding (whether Guido uses it), and more! Link in the reply.

Right now at PyBay @gvanrossum is showing off a live demo of structured RAG. Enjoying some sketch comedy deep cuts, too.

Amazing talk at PyBay right now by @kantrn about how "hello world" in Python actually works at the lowest levels. Perhaps too deep (see pic)?

I'm on the way to SF for @py_bay via CalTrain. So far a much nicer experience than the last time I took CalTrain (but not yet Japan level). Will post about some of the interesting talks. #PyBay
