Ram Ratna Wires Ltd
"The only Indian maker of enamelled copper winding wires spanning 18-micron hair-thin wires to 4.876mm ropes, riding AC, EV, wind & grid-capex electrification in one integrated chassis."
RRWL is the 2nd-largest winding-wire manufacturer in South Asia, but the real thesis isn't wires. It's a deliberate mix-shift from a commoditised copper-converter model (60-80bps converter spread) into value-added copper tubes, BLDC motors and wind-turbine internals where gross margins are 3β5x higher.
Sits midstream in the copper value chain: buys LME-linked copper cathode/rod β supplies OEMs in motors, generators, ACs, pumps, T&D, automotive, renewables. Marquee clients incl. Daikin, Panasonic, Havells, Crompton, Bajaj, Kirloskar.
The legacy wires business is commoditized; the copper-tube BLDC wind pivot is unique. RRWL is one of only 2-3 Indian players with scale in DHP copper tubes and the sole listed name with a PLI-approved BLDC-for-AC JV (EPAVO, 50:50 with EPACK Durable).
Growth triggers are highlighted below, and some of the capex has already been commercialized and started contributing over the last two quarters. The coming quarter should be even better, as the final quarter is usually strong.
