It really has been a multi step progress with support all of the way.
The Munitions Council began in June 2025, with a goal to double to quadruple munitions within a 6, 18, 24 month period. The initiative was made public on 30 September 2025.
By 6 December, Boeing at RNDF spoke about quadrupling things like PAC-3 seekers with the other contractors not far behind such as Lockmart expanding the JASSM/LRASM production line capacity.
On January 9 2026, Trump announced further expansions in production to the tune of 2-3x *on top* of the MAC 2-4x baseline along with the threat of lost contracts if the companies didn't reinvest in production capacity.
On 7th March 2026 we get the results of the meeting between the admin, the MAC, and contractors with all of them set to meet not only the baseline within the 18-24 month timeline from September, but additional January expansions by 2033. The best part is that new munitions such as the JATM, SiAW, PrSM will be seeing these ramps out of the gate fast.
The will is there. The motivation of being left with depleting stocks is pretty damn strong. The infrastructure is being built. The funds just need to be locked in for FY27 and beyond.
