𝗥𝗘𝗞𝗢𝗗 𝗕𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗨: 𝟲𝟬 𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗜 𝗞𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗜 𝗗𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗠 𝗦𝗘𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗜, 𝗞𝗔𝗗𝗔𝗥 𝗞𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗡 𝟬%! Pada 22 Mei 2026, Pusat Jantung Hospital Sultan Idris Shah (HSIS) telah berjaya mengendalikan 60 kes intervensi kardiologi dalam tempoh sehari dengan kadar kematian sifar (0%). Pencapaian ini turut mencerminkan keupayaan HSIS dalam mengendalikan kes koronari kompleks, melibatkan 16 kes koronari kompleks, Prosedur Pengimejan Intravaskular (IVUS), Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) dan 2 kes RotaPro Rotational Atherectomy. Dedikasi luar biasa ini telah digerakkan oleh seramai 80 petugas kesihatan terdiri daripada 15 pakar kardiologi, 6 pegawai perubatan, 11 juru X-ray, 8 penolong pegawai perubatan, serta 40 jururawat dan pembantu perawatan kesihatan. Sebagai rekod, Pusat Jantung HSIS telah mengendalikan sebanyak 9,483 prosedur angiogram jantung dan 6,486 prosedur PCI sepanjang tahun 2025. En el Centro Hospitalario Especializado Dr. Rafael Hernández de la @CSSPanama en la provincia de Chiriquí se realizó, por primera vez fuera de la capital, la compleja técnica de rotablación coronaria que dio una nueva esperanza de vida a dos pacientes con severas afecciones cardíacas. El Dr. Esaú De León, cardiólogo intervencionista del hospital, explicó que la técnica utiliza un equipo conocido como Rotapro (rotablator), diseñado para intervenir arterias coronarias complejas donde los procedimientos convencionales de cateterismo no son suficientes. “Este dispositivo funciona como un pequeño taladro de alta velocidad con una cubierta de diamante, capaz de fragmentar las placas de calcio y grasa endurecidas en las arterias, facilitando su apertura y permitiendo posteriormente la colocación segura de un stent”, detalló el especialista. La incorporación de esta técnica fortalece el moderno quirófano híbrido y la sala de hemodinámica del hospital, consolidando a Chiriquí como referente nacional en atención cardiovascular.

I was very reluctant also! But IVL and OPN were not available. Case was performed in a public health system hospital and RotaPro was donated as part of a educational program from Boston

Extremely tortuous RCA. After a few short runs w/ RotaPro 1.5 the burr disconnected from the driveshaft. Luckily wire was not damaged and kept the burr from embolizing distally. Not sure why it happened. Any thoughts on the potential mechanism for this complication? @rotamonster
