Here in Anglesea this is exemplified by the Eden Project. A theme park in the middle of a National Park that claims to educate people about the environment. What a joke. @SaveAnglesea @LilyDAmbrosioMP @LisanevilleMP

Great article. The Great Ocean Road recovery will be lead by Victorians wanting to explore the natural environment. A real Eden, not a fake one.@surfcoastnotes @SaveAnglesea @rwynnemp @LilyDAmbrosioMP @LisanevilleMP @notthatjt

Small, low impact, open to the entire community, and owned by all Victorians. What more could we ask for?

Sir Tim got one thing right in his article โ€œ middle age men are usually wrongโ€ and he is very, very wrong. No community support, no environmental value and no idea!

A developer in conjunction with @delwp seeks to make a virtue out of the slaughter of a population of kangaroos ๐Ÿฆ˜ who have had the misfortune of being hemmed in by โ€œdevelopmentโ€. What horrors await the #Anglesea community and our local wildlife @DanielAndrewsMP? ๐Ÿค” #SaveAnglesea

Amazing how many projects claim environmental credentials but then promote commercialization and development. The conflict of interest is staggering!@surfcoastnotes @surfcoasttimes @DELWP_Vic @LilyDAmbrosioMP @LisanevilleMP @SaveAnglesea

Minister, your own dept @DELWP_Vic has withheld community consultations that proved there was no support for the Anglesea Futures Land Use Plan and you havenโ€™t called them out. You canโ€™t have it both ways @SaveAnglesea @surfcoastnotes @MarianSmedley @LisanevilleMP @rwynnemp

Community voice, transparency, trust & destination accounting [incl. cultural, social, environmental & economic] - all 4 critical to sustainable destination action plans for a better life. We need to learn lessons of the pastโ€ฆ.and quickly @DestThink destinationthink.com/blog/deโ€ฆ

I certainly hope so, Michael! Perhaps @DELWP_Vic could begin by acknowledging the true results of their community consultation and surveys and then develop plans and strategies that are as forward thinking as those outlined in the article.

Maybe @DELWP_Vic and @surfcoastnotes should reconsider their mass tourism models for Anglesea that have no community support and now make no sense. @LilyDAmbrosioMP @rwynnemp @LisanevilleMP @timpallas @GayleTierney @SaveAnglesea

An unqualified apology to the #Anglesea community would be appropriate. Whatever community members may think about the @Alcoa & @edenproject plans for the land being vacated by Alcoa it was disrespectful & inappropriate not to be completely transparent about the actual feedback๐Ÿ‘Ž

Help us @SaveAnglesea from overdevelopment and greed!

The botched explosive ๐Ÿงจ demolition was of the coal plant proper rather than the smoke stack

Itโ€™s a real slap in the face for the community, which endured over 40 years of toxic emissions (and one of the worst SO2 polluters in Australia in absolute terms) to support Point Henry jobs. The much hated and redundant smoke stack should be demolished immediately โ˜ ๏ธ๐Ÿญ #springst

Good point. Letโ€™s support existing businesses that have suffered greatly and not offer government support to unwanted and unneeded development in Anglesea. @SaveAnglesea

Unfortunately it's been that way for a long time. 'Development', 'progress'... have been used to describe changes that severely simplify complex ecosystems. That's not development :(
