I’m in Frankfurt today with the Payara team, talking about what’s next for Java: modernization, cloud deployment, and how we build things sustainably and smartly. Great to see people here from BMW, DPD, Bundesagentur für Arbeit, and PayPal—it shows how relevant these topics are across industries. Modernization isn’t optional anymore. Nearly half of all Java apps today need it (47%), and almost 90% of leaders say it’s a higher priority than other projects. The catch: doing this well will tie up ~45% of developer time for more than 5 years. That’s why I’m excited about Payara Qube.
