Stanley Pophal, 64, Wausau, Wisconsin, pleaded guilty Friday to defrauding investors out of $14.25 million in the Western District of Wisconsin. According to court documents, Pophal defrauded 190 investors and used the funds to purchase hundreds of snowmobiles, motorcycles, and vehicles. As part of his plea agreement with the government, Pophal agreed to forfeit these items. Public auction of these assets will occur at a later date. FBI Milwaukee's Eau Claire Resident Agency and the IRS Criminal Investigation jointly investigated this case. More information: justice.gov/usao-wdwi/pr/wau…

Not much left of the old summer headquarters buildings where I spent my summers as a kid. I took the HQ house down in the 90s. People were using it for a snowmachine jump, the supply cabin and horse barn are falling down on their own. The view of Red Mountain from the house.

Almost all rural and bush subsistence/land activities are dominated by gas, whether plane, 4wheeler side by side, boat or snowmachine. Whereas many from urban areas will go out sans machine on foot, ski, or boat. It’s a stark divide.

Sometimes it's snowmachine headlights as many villages have few cars, but many snowmachines.

I was telling my kids the other day how when I was a kid you used to be able to pull up to a Tesoro station and pump gas into your snowmachine without paying first, they couldn't believe it.

There's plenty unless you're super remote, and if you're super remote... Play chess, screw? Lots of outdoor activities - from walking/hiking to motorcycle/snowmachine/jet ski, shooting sports, gardening, so many options that are inaccessible in a major metro.

Person-to-person, one conversation at a time, I’m running a ground game from the Aleutians to the Arctic – traveling by plane, boat, and snowmachine to reach every voter in every village that I can.

Thats awesome. My 30k average is 468- but im in alaska, occasionally haul trailers and a snowmachine in the bed. Nokian hakkapalita LT3 studded winter tires and stock all terrain summer.

Hahaha!😂 I’ve been here almost thirty years and love every moment (except one broken snowmachine in Gakona at -47°!) 🤣

Small plane. Sled. Ferry. Snowmachine. People in the Lower 48 might not understand, but that’s what it takes to get across Alaska, and that’s how I’m meeting folks in every community I can. Every village, every voter.

I have one of me conquering the hill I just barely rolled over on in the middle of the night at Arctic Man first night down there on my snowmachine
I'll get it on video next time so I can at least get some quote tweets for my fuckery

I’m at a remote science camp in Arctic Alaska 100 miles from the nearest village (population 486), I’m on starlink. Earlier today my phone buzzed in my pocket while riding snowmachine, we were getting close to oil camps and they have cell service. It’s already lost
