In my view, Governor Walz represents one of the most incompetent state leaders in the United States. There have been repeated issues involving state funds directed toward Somali related programs with little transparency, ongoing failures to control illegal immigration, and a pattern of ignoring federal authority without consequences. This is the same governor who authorized driver licenses for illegal immigrants despite clear conflict with federal immigration enforcement. Rule after rule is bypassed, federal law is undermined, and yet nothing happens. When state leaders openly defy federal law and face no accountability, the message sent is dangerous. The law becomes optional, and enforcement becomes political. That is not governance. A candlelight vigil was organised by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) on 17 January 2026 at the Wall of Remembrance to honour and remember Nengtinlhing Hsokip, a 20-year-old young woman whose life was tragically cut short following a brutal assault. Nengtinlhing reportedly endured grave violence after being handed over at an ATM booth in New Checkon, taken to Langol, and later abandoned in Bishnupur. Though she survived the initial assault, she suffered severe physical and psychological trauma, including critical uterine complications. She was shifted to Guwahati for advanced treatment, where she fought for her life before succumbing to her injuries on 10 January 2026. Community leaders, women’s groups, civil society members, and concerned citizens gathered in silence and solidarity, lighting candles to mourn the life lost and to honour her memory. Speakers expressed deep anguish and strongly condemned the violence inflicted upon her. The vigil also strongly condemned the continued failure of the BJP-led governments at both the Centre and the State, whose silence, inaction, and lack of accountability have allowed violence against women particularly from Indigenous and marginalised communities to persist with impunity. Participants asserted that justice delayed and denied reflects a deeper collapse of governance, law enforcement, and political will. The programme served as a resolute call for justice, accountability, and systemic reform. Participants demanded a thorough, impartial investigation and urged authorities to ensure that all those responsible directly or indirectly are held accountable under the law, without political protection. The vigil concluded with prayers and a collective resolve to continue raising voices against violence and injustice so that Nengtinlhing Hsokip’s life, dignity, and suffering are never forgotten, and no other woman is abandoned by the system again. #JusticeForNengtinlhing #BJPFailedWomen #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #StateAccountability #RememberHer

BREAKING: Did Fine Gael unintentionally or otherswise Illegally Block Independent Candidates From Ireland’s Presidency? 🚨 Before the 2025 Presidential Election, the Fine Gael leadership issued a nationwide directive telling its councillors NOT to nominate any independent candidates through the County Council route. This wasn’t a law. This wasn’t a democratic decision. This was a party order that effectively shut down a constitutional pathway guaranteed under Article 12.4.2° of Bunreacht na hÉireann. And now the case is going to the Supreme Court of Ireland. Here’s why this matters: 🔹 Article 12 gives councillors the constitutional power to nominate presidential candidates. That power belongs to THEM—not political parties. 🔹 Political parties have no constitutional authority to restrict nominations or “whip” councillors on a presidential vote. 🔹 By ordering councillors not to nominate independents, Fine Gael may have: • overridden a constitutional function • blocked democratic participation • interfered with citizens’ political rights • undermined the integrity of the entire nomination process This is bigger than politics. This is about whether a political party can control a constitutional mechanism that belongs to the people. Two cases—Stack and Byrne—challenged the block before the election. Despite clear evidence of interference, both were dismissed in the High Court. Now the Supreme Court must decide: ➡️ Can a political party prevent councillors from exercising their constitutional powers? ➡️ Can a party shut down a nomination route guaranteed in the Constitution? ➡️ Was the 2025 nomination process fundamentally compromised? This could become one of the most important constitutional rulings in modern Irish history. Ireland deserves transparency. Ireland deserves fairness.
