I’m a parent and community member who was distributing rapid tests through the #StaySafeScreen program to other parents in the community to keep our community and schools safe. @fordnation stole that from us and forced us to shut down the program months ago.

.@Sflecce just claimed on @CP24 that "rapid tests, I mean we didn't have that in 2021, we didn't have access to them from the federal government til literally weeks ago"
I guess the @fordnation election strategy is "let's hope parents have amnesia".

So… just like how @VaxHuntersCan and #StaySafeScreen showed us that a group of intelligent, dedicated volunteers can do things way more efficiently than this government… and for FREE?

Thanks for covering #StaySafeScreen. Among other things, we were using rapid testing to allow our young kids to visit their grandparents with peace of mind, supporting not only physical health but also mental well-being. This program should have been expanded, not dismantled.

I am grateful for the opportunity that @CTVKitchener and @WeidnerRecord gave me to speak up about this important issue, and to change the narrative that Communitech was trying to lead with. Also so grateful to the #StaySafeScreen volunteers who helped to get rapid tests into KW.

Our community benefited from the #staysafescreen program. Kudos to the sponsors. Although grateful to participate, I’d have felt better about it if everyone had the same, no cost access to tests. Let’s see if @fordnation can organize a more equitable program for everyone.

Schools/daycares: 1.7 million vulnerable unvaccinated children.
Businesses: serve the public where >70% fully vaxxed & protected by vaccine passport.
Yet, the Ontario government is stopping rapid tests for parents & schools, restricting access to businesses only.

Just put together a little rapid testing kit that will allow another mom to have some peace of mind before her mother provides childcare for her littles. So thankful to have access to free rapid tests to help keep our community safer. #StaySafeAmbassador #StaySafeScreen

Peace of mind after 7yo says “my throat feels kinda dry today” and I don’t know if it’s just because we turned the heat on and forgot to turn on the humidifier, her seasonal allergies are kicking in, or she’s been exposed to an asymptomatic carrier at school. #StaySafeScreen

Steve, Brampton is closest for staysafescreen test kit pickup but you can order enough to keep you going for a while. We’ll probably need more in a month or so.
