I keep thinking about my thoughts when I first learned that one of the Rockefeller brothers had undergone 5 heart transplants - what who how does 5 human hearts end up being available and the right type to be placed in a man who was at the time I learned this in his 90s? Our community in Hazendal is suffering for years with archaic infrastructure, constant lights off, sewerage issues much more promises term in term out for new structures. Yes there is cable theft, backyard, dwellers and houses built by COCT without concern to impact on existing infrastructures. Community today were sick and tired many have been without power between 9 to over 24 hours. Babies whose bottles could not be made, children hungry, and many without a warm meal. Its is cold right now darkness and struggle with heat. Almost every day calls are logged for power off and sewerage issues. Today people rightfully had enough as basic services not met yet constant pressure of increases and no services and people took to the road to protest. Got there stayed with community from 6pm until lights fixed at 20h30 went home then lights went off again and we continued to secure assistance until after 10pm lights finally on for now for our community. COCT needs to ensure that as a matter of urgency that promises made is fulfilled community is not going to sit back anymore and we support them. It cannot continue like this people have reached breaking point. Today after protest several vehicles were deployed to assist alongside law enforcement. Community waited alongside workers and law enforcement until lights back on. Thank you to Councillor Suzette Little who came to join me to help our community. Strength in unity. Cllr Adv.
