Innovation Takes Center Stage at #AYuTeChallengeRwanda2026
Kigali, Celebrations and excitement filled the air as Rwanda’s brightest agri-tech innovators were crowned at the prestigious #AYuTeChallengeRwanda2026, an event driving forward youth-led solutions in agriculture.
Emerging as the overall winner, Mutoni Goodluck of Goodness of God secured the top prize of RWF 30,000,000. Her innovative approach to transforming farmers’ produce into value added products is not only boosting incomes but also unlocking new market opportunities across the agricultural value chain.
Taking the 1st Runner-Up position, Isidole Niyigirimpuhwe of Techplus Trust Ltd walked away with RWF 20,000,000. His smart incubation technology is already making a tangible impact by enabling farmers to access high-quality chicks, a critical factor in improving poultry productivity.
In 2nd Runner-Up place, Axel Muyombano of Ampere Vision earned RWF 15,000,000 for his cutting-edge drone-powered spraying solution. His innovation is helping farmers protect crops more efficiently while significantly reducing losses.
Meanwhile, the Emerging Innovator 2026 award was presented to Samuel Munyaneza, who received a grant of RWF 2,000,000. His sachet-based solution is expanding access to agricultural products and opening up new market pathways for smallholder farmers.

Day 4 of Crop Insurance Week took our teams deeper into Belagavi, Ballari, Mysuru, Koppal and Yadgir, meeting farmers where they are and making crop insurance easier to understand.
In Belagavi, coordinators held small-group discussions on premium rates, loss assessment timelines and the importance of notifying crop damage early.
In Ballari, farmers were guided through document requirements for claims and how technology supports faster, more transparent assessments.
Across Mysuru villages like Biligere, Mulluru, Agrahara and Attiguppe, teams conducted pathshala-style sessions to simplify PMFBY coverage limits and explain how weather-based risks are handled.
In Koppal, visits to Yelburga and Kushtagi focused on enrolment clarity, cutoff dates and clearing doubts on insured crops for the Rabi 2025 season.
In Yadgir, group interactions in Bidrahalli and Kampli helped farmers understand how crop insurance acts as a financial safety net during unpredictable weather.
Every session kept one goal at the centre: helping every farmer feel supported, informed and confident about securing their crops.

Day 2 of Crop Insurance Week took our teams across Ballari, Koppal, Mysuru and Yadgir.
The focus stayed simple: sit with farmers, talk to them directly, and make sure every detail of PMFBY feels clear and accessible.
Through group discussions and one-on-one support, farmers got a better understanding of coverage benefits, enrolment timelines and claim procedures.
Most importantly, they walked away with the confidence that crop insurance can steady them through unpredictable weather.
The aim stays the same every day: give farmers the clarity and assurance they need to protect their crops and secure their income for the season ahead.
