Geothermal drilling has officially begun at 50 Wilson Heights Blvd. — converting a City-owned surface parking lot into a mixed-use, transit-oriented community. Developed by
@GreenwinTALKS,
@kingsettcapital and
@tridel, in partnership with the
@cityoftoronto and CreateTO, this project will deliver 1,484 new homes, including 520 affordable rental units, a park, child care centre, community space and improvements to the public realm – all next to to the TTC's Wilson Subway Station.
Aligned with the City of Toronto’s TransformTO climate action goals, 50 Wilson Heights Blvd. meets the Toronto Green Standard through its geothermal-powered design. Diverso Energy's system will serve the heating and cooling needs of the first buildings in the development, reducing their carbon footprint while also lowering energy consumption, water usage, and long-term maintenance costs.
Swipe to see Diverso’s work underway as their crew guides a fleet of truck- and track-mounted rigs through the snow, drilling boreholes for the geothermal system that will power the future community.
