Development is most sustainable when leadership listens and communities are meaningfully engaged in shaping their own progress. Guided by this principle, I undertook a community outreach engagement in Kiminini Sub-County, Nabiswa Ward, where I had the opportunity to engage with over 750 women and youth. Our discussions centered on the development priorities of Kiminini and the broader Trans Nzoia County, with a strong focus on inclusive growth, empowerment and ensuring that no one is left behind.
During the engagement, I briefed residents on the forthcoming visit of His Excellency President
@WilliamsRuto and the transformative initiatives planned for the county. These include the equipping and upgrading of critical health facilities, Kijana Wamalwa Memorial Hospital, Tom Mboya County Referral Hospital and Kitale County Hospital, the expansion of electricity connectivity and deliberate measures to ensure that our youth fully benefit from the
@NYOTA_Kenya Programme. I further informed the community that I have formally engaged His Excellency the President to host Western Region women leaders at State House, reaffirming the Government’s unwavering commitment to women empowerment.
In line with the Government’s social protection agenda, I extended support through the donation of essential items, including food supplies and blankets, to widows, orphans, persons with disabilities, the elderly and other vulnerable members of our society. This intervention reflects our commitment to safeguarding dignity and improving livelihoods for those most in need.
On environmental sustainability, I emphasized the urgent need to protect our forests and natural resources to avert disasters such as landslides and environmental degradation. I highlighted ongoing and forthcoming environmental conservation and green job initiatives under my Ministry and noted our close collaboration with other government agencies in preparation for the President’s visit.
I concluded by calling for unity and collective responsibility, underscoring that when we move forward together as one community, we unlock greater opportunities, shared prosperity and sustainable development for all.
