A system is judged by how it treats those with the least power. When "Islamic law" is used in 2026 to justify child marriage, deny women equal inheritance, or criminalize freedom of speech, it fails the basic test of a modern civilization. Opposing this isn't about "hate"—it’s about defending the hard-won universal rights that protect every human being. We must oppose any system that places "divine mandate" above human dignity. If a legal code relies on the subjugation of half its population to function, it isn't "holy"—it’s regressive. 🏛️🚫 #HumanRights #Secularism #UniversalValues

In the 21st century, humanity holds more power to shape the future of our world than ever before. But the real question is: do we have the wisdom to use it well? Amid intensifying geopolitical and geoeconomic competition, the defining challenge of our time is not simply the rivalry of great powers. It is finding a way for humanity to coexist in peace. In a world driven by power, we may need shared values of humanity more than ever. “The next world order will not be shaped by power alone — but by the values that guide how humanity chooses to use it.” Yesterday (9 March 2026), in my capacity as Vice President and Deputy Secretary-General of the Bodhgaya Vihara 980 Institute, I had the privilege of attending the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Institute, represented by Dr. Supachai Verapuchong, and Dr. Prashant Sharma, the Dharma Alliance, a non-profit organization closely connected with the United Nations system in Geneva. This agreement marks an important step for the Bodhgaya Vihara 980 Institute in connecting the Universal Values of Dharma with the principles of Universal Human Rights. It also opens the door for collaboration with key international organizations, particularly within the United Nations system. Dharma offers a simple yet profound principle: to guide decisions and resolve conflicts through mindfulness, wisdom, and compassion. If leaders of nations, international organizations, and civil society can connect the Universal Values of Dharma with the framework of Universal Human Rights, our world may be able to move beyond the logic of conflict and build a more cooperative and sustainable world order. Because ultimately, the future of our world will not be determined by power alone — but by the values that humanity chooses to stand for. #Dharma #UniversalValues #HumanRights #GlobalLeadership #PeaceThroughWisdom #Bodhgaya980

MBC News—The Prime Minister, Baek Byeong-heon, has solemnly declared war on the ideological poison of relativism: All men and women of goodwill, Listen: we got to annihilate an enemy that is tearing humanity apart. It's called relativism, and it's a cancer, eating away at us from the inside. Now, relativists say that all cultures are equal, that there's no such thing as objectively right or objectively wrong, and that every opinion is just as valid as the next. But let me ask you this: is it okay to excuse things like female genital mutilation, honour killings, or allowing men dressed like women to enter into female safe spaces, just because it's part of some culture, or the absence thereof? Can we let cultural practices that violate the basic principles of human dignity go unchecked? Relativism is a mess. If you believe it's true, then you're saying there's at least one absolute truth, and that contradicts the whole idea. It's like saying 'there are no rules, except for this one rule.' Doesn't make sense, does it? Some people try to justify relativism by conceding that there are some absolute truths in certain areas, like science. But then they'll turn around and say there are no absolute moral truths. They're being inconsistent. If you try to live by this moral relativism, you can't even criticise someone for doing something wrong. Like if someone rapes someone else, you can't even say it's wrong because they might think it's right for them. Some try to say that morality is only absolute when it affects other people, but not when it's just personal. But that's a totally arbitrary and self-serving principle. Look, even the biggest relativist out there doesn't truly believe their own nonsense. If you start hurling accusations of child molestation their way, they'll deny it with all the ferocity of a lion. They won't just say 'oh, well that's just your opinion,' no. They'll tell you straight up that it's a cold, hard fact that they didn't do it, and that you've breached the objective moral principles of honesty and integrity while making those accusations. If we try to live by this moral relativism, we can't make any negative moral judgments. It's like saying 'anything goes.' It's not a position that a reasonable person should embrace. So what does this mean? It means we got to be crystal clear about our values. It means we got to call out practices that don't fit with our superior civilisation and work to change them. It means we got to support people who are fighting for humaneness, justice, propriety, and wisdom all over the world, no matter where they come from. This is not going to be an easy fight. There will be ignorant people who call us intolerant. If moral standards are relative, then who's to say that intolerance is bad? What I'm saying is that these relativists are hypocrites. They say that universal moral standards are bad, but then they turn around and act like the immorality of intolerance is a fact. Make it make sense! In the end, got to recognise that there are absolute standards that apply to everyone, regardless of culture. And we got to reject this idea that intolerance is like, inherently bad. Enough is enough. The most extreme of relativist opinions must be completely shut off from the public discourse. Logic and common sense must be respected once more. All civilised people of the world, let us declare a war on relativism. Let's do what's right for our forebears, ourselves and our children. Let us take back humanity’s conscience. Thank you. A sentiment that captures the very heart of the season. Kindness, joy, and a touch of magic are indeed the universal gifts we can all both give and receive. It is in these shared human moments, the warmth of a gesture, the light in a smile, that the true spirit of Christmas finds its most powerful expression. May that magic extend far beyond the tinsel and lights, into the coming year. #KindnessMatters #FestiveMagic #UniversalValues #HumanConnection Adhoura Aks #AdhouraAks

I have always longed for a President who could unite the American people around universal values, not divide us, by implying that people that he disagrees with, are the "enemy". There was a time in America, where "we'll have to agree to disagree" was a more common statement, not "you are an evil person, who is trying to destroy this country". The latter accusation becomes confusing to some people, because apparently, being a Party supporter (otherwise, if you disagree, you are a Democrat, and hence you are the "enemy", according to the common rhetoric), means supporting price controls, wage redistribution, and nationalization of the economy. This, coming from people, who were accusing the Democratic Party followers, of supporting the same policies. With immigration, the more restrictions are placed on it (Article I, Section VIII of the US Constitution only lists naturalization (citizenship) as a federal power), the more undocumented immigrants there are, the more there are deportations. The more deportations there are, the more there are protests. The more protests there are, the more crackdowns take place, the more there are violent responses. Violent responses are then used as a justification for more crackdowns and further support for policies. It is a "self-licking ice cream cone". Other than the seeming contradiction of double standards (does it really matter what one supports, if it is done out of partisan loyalty?), what was described above is a tendency among some to support a "strategy of tension" or "strategia della tensione", where tensions are amped up. This was used in Italy, where the government policies were fully expected to lead to violent responses, from some of those who disagreed, with a full understanding that this behavior would add fuel to violence. This, was, then used to justify further crackdowns, with the goal of defeating the opposition through the amping up of tensions. The irony of some people supporting the current "strategy of tensions" is that it is coming from some the same people, who were recently complaining about division in this country. Tragically, when there is an act of violence on the other side (I condemn the shooting at the Dallas ICE facility), this is used as an explanation, of why further policies are necessary to "deal with violence on the Left" and continuing the same policies, while ignoring all of the protests and tensions that have occurred before, as a response to these policies. Simply put, the more there is a doubling down on policies, the more likely there are to be protests. The more there are protests, the more there are crackdowns, which lead to more violent interactions. This is predictable. This is a dangerous path towards social unrest. Rather than tempering the tensions down, we have some people supporting the rise in tensions, either because they don't understand that this could have dangerous consequences for the nation, as a whole, or they are hoping for a violent social unrest to spread, believing that this would give the side they support an opportunity to defeat the opposition not through ballots, but through the use of force. Some would gladly support a civil war. Before the 2024 election, the support for amping up tensions was seen in the polls, as millions of people came to embrace locking up political opponents and the use of political violence, amped up by political rhetoric. The desire to use the power of the State to destroy those who disagree, doesn't include any realization, that this would likely boomerang against those who support the use of force, after hoping that their desire to have the other side cornered to the wall, would be achieved. Rather than easing tensions, we have some people supporting adding fuel to the fire. It is time to say "no!" to political violence. While I do support freedom of speech, and do not support policing it, I do believe that the use of the words like "Nazis" and "communists" to label other people, just for showing any disagreement, only adds fuel to tensions. This is done by both public officials, candidates for office, and repeated by some of the supporters. The support for dehumanization over political differences is the consequence of the rhetoric that has been spewed for years. This is coming from people who are trying to divide us, by focusing on wedge issues, that have little or no impact on our lives. They want us to fight each other with their "divide and conquer" strategy, while the economy is being weakened and people are being hurt. Don't fall for their trap by going after each other, because that is what they want! Let's not let them win! #PoliticalViolence #strategyoftension #strategiadellatensione #ice #immigration #newjersey #Immigrationpolicy #nj #Republicans #Democrats #polarization #independentvoter #partisanloyalty #njgubernatorialelection #njelection #politicalpolarization #italy #namecalling #immigrationreform #politicaldivision #independentvoters #universalvalues #independents #Constitution #USConstitution #ConstitutionalCrisis #protests #protest #Federalism #immigrationandcustomsenforcement Wife of man shot at Dallas ICE facility speaks out as agency's tactics raise tensions nationwide cbsnews.com/miami/video/wife… via @CBSNews

“Stamping Oppression with God’s Name” A rabbi promises “love and solidarity” to Israel. Yet this promise echoes the darkest collaborations of history. Just as the Church once sanctified oppression in the Middle Ages, today rabbis’ prayers for Netanyahu do the same: stamping oppression with God’s name. For centuries, the West has preached “liberty, equality, fraternity.” But when a child in Gaza closes his eyes from hunger, they remain silent. It means that their so-called universal values are only ink in their books, while the blood of the oppressed is the real ink. The rabbi says “solidarity”; meanwhile in Gaza, mothers give their children tears instead of water as they faint from hunger. On one side, polished speeches about “justice” in luxurious halls, on the other side, the last breaths heard in the rubble… This is how the scales of the world are tilted. The essence of religions was mercy. The Torah, the Bible, the Qur’an — all commanded justice. But the rabbi buried mercy while using God’s name. That is why these words are not prayers but denial; not faith but betrayal. And never forget: History does not forgive. Just as the churches that sanctified apartheid, and the priests who blessed the French occupation, were thrown into the garbage of history, so too will the rabbis who bless the death of children in Gaza face the same fate. Steel rusts, tanks decay, regimes collapse; but the prayers of the oppressed pierce through every weapon of the oppressor. This is why the rabbi’s declaration is not just words, but the stain of shame on humanity. #Gaza #Palestine #Israel #Humanity #Justice #WarCrimes #StopGenocide #UniversalValues #Truth #Freedom #ChildrenOfGaza #EndOccupation @IntlCrimCourt @ECHR_CEDH @CIJ_ICJ @UNHumanRights @UNICEF @amnesty @hrw @UN @ICRC @realTrumpNewsX @realDonaldTrump @elonmusk

Africa: A Visionary Leadership for UNESCO's Next 80 Years allafrica.com/stories/202509… GUEST COLUMN, by Amadou Mahtar Ba ‘’As the United Nations celebrates its 80th anniversary and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) marks eight decades of action for peace and development, our world is grappling with profound change. At this pivotal moment, we have the opportunity to equip these multilateral institutions with a forward-looking vision to steer this transformation. Created in 1945 as a bulwark against the return of world wars, the UN and its specialized agencies provided a framework for cooperation and a universal forum for dialogue. Yet, on the eve of their 80th milestone, resurgent geopolitical tensions, social crises, climate emergencies, and the rise of intolerance remind us that peace remains fragile — and that the ideal of solidarity must constantly be renewed ‘’... #Inclusion #CulturalDiversity #InternationalCooperation #EducationForPeace #InclusiveLeadership #CulturalDiplomacy #Solidarity #UnityInDiversity #UniversalValues #SharedHumanity #GlobalCommitment #SustainableGoals #BuildingPeace #WomenAndPeace #CommonHeritage

The Cry of Justice: The Silent Screams of Children The greatest test of a state is to protect its children. A state that cannot protect its children digs its own grave. This is the state of Israel today: a ghost state trying to survive not on life, but on the blood of children. And we, as the family of humanity, are witnessing this shame. While Gaza’s sky is pierced with fire every day, while the earth is poisoned with the smell of gunpowder, silence is a crime. To remain silent is to become complicit in these murders. If a human conscience cannot hear the cries of children, that conscience is already dead. If a society becomes accustomed to burying its children, that society is finished. States collapse, armies wither, borders shift. But every slain child’s body is carved into the stone of history. History does not record the names of tyrants; it records the blood of the innocent. And history is writing today: @netanyahu is not just Israel’s test, he is humanity’s test. And in this test, the loser is not only Gaza — but the entire world that remains silent. Once again I say: A state that kills children has ceased to be a state. A power that protects predators has ceased to be power. A system that strangles justice has ceased to be a system. Neither tanks, nor planes, nor propaganda can erase this truth. The blood of justice seeps everywhere. And that blood, sooner or later, will rise to the throat of the oppressor. Those who close their conscience today will be called to account tomorrow. Those who close their eyes today will read their own tombstone tomorrow. Those who remain silent today will be judged guilty tomorrow. For truth is one, unchanging: A state that does not protect its children is doomed to disappear. #JusticeForChildren #EndTheOccupation #WarCrimes #HumanityFirst #DoubleStandards #TruthMatters #SaveGaza #StopTheGenocide #UniversalValues #FreePalestine @IntlCrimCourt @ECHR_CEDH @CIJ_ICJ @UNHumanRights @UNICEF @amnesty @hrw @UN @ICRC @realTrumpNewsX @realDonaldTrump @elonmusk

A Silent Storm in Tokyo – One Man, One World Under Tokyo’s neon lights, in that crowded crossing where people can barely pass without bumping into each other, one man stands still. He’s not shouting, not chanting slogans. In his hands, only one sign: “Stop Gaza Genocide – Humanitarian Aid to Gaza.” At a time when world leaders, the United Nations, the European Union, and so-called “human rights” institutions are giving grand speeches about compassion, this man is doing something they will not: telling the truth. He may not speak aloud, but his silence is louder than their microphones. I bow in respect before this man. Because in today’s world, he is doing the hardest thing: displaying his conscience. His eyes are fixed not on the cameras, but on humanity itself. And imagine… tomorrow someone else stands in Paris with the same sign. The next day, in Istanbul. Then in New York, Cape Town… The busiest squares on Earth filled with this man’s silent cry. That cardboard sign becomes more than words — it becomes a link in a global chain of conscience. To @EU_Commission, @UN, @WhiteHouse, @10DowningStreet, @Elysee, @GermanyDiplo — do you have the courage to stand in front of this man in Tokyo? Or will you keep hiding in million-dollar conference halls, saying the word “peace” while watching Gaza’s children and elderly take their last breath? This man reminds us of something simple yet powerful: One human can outweigh an entire continent. Sometimes the biggest revolution begins quietly on a street corner. And sometimes, one person can reset the moral compass of the whole world. History might not remember this man’s name, but it will remember his stance. The question is will it remember you? #Gaza #Palestine #StopGazaGenocide #SilentProtest #HumanRights #GlobalConscience #TokyoProtest #StandWithPalestine #JusticeForGaza #EndTheSiege #WarCrimes #UniversalValues #VoicesForGaza @IntlCrimCourt @ECHR_CEDH @CIJ_ICJ @UNHumanRights @UNICEF @amnesty @hrw @UN @ICRC @realTrumpNewsX @realDonaldTrump @elonmusk
