When this was #Twitter, if a user was deleted, many would contact Admin to end his TL suspension And Twitter ALWAYS re-opened the suspended page. That seemed 2 work only once/user as #RulesBreaker user 2.0 were gone. #Journos, #Activists, WE CAN start the #UserBack-chain again

I have a 140k line entirely Claude coded platform thatโ€™s been working fine. Itโ€™s not an issue anymore. I use Sentry for observability, post hog for analytics, linear for task management, userback for feedback . You just build the system around it

How Do Your Users Behave When They Find a Bug in Your Software? THINGS YOU MIGHT WANNA KNOW: โ€ข Will they report it? โ€ข Will they abandon your software? โ€ข What you should do as a developer/founder? โ€ข Wanna know how to encourage them to report the bug? Read ON! A Deeper Research with Real Data into User Behavior Regarding Software Bugs: Plus Contrasting Perspectives from Different Sources ๐Ÿž Software development is heavily impacted by how users respond to bugs. My recent poll provided some insights, but additional statistics from Bugpilot and Applause reveal a more complex picture, emphasizing the importance of understanding different user audiences. โ™ฆ My Poll Results after 24 hours: Yes (48.1%): A proactive group that reports bugs. No (33.3%): Users who expect developers to find and fix bugs. Sometimes (18.5%): Those who report bugs selectively. โ™ฆ Contrasting with Other Findings: Bugpilot (96% Silent Majority): An astonishing 96% of users donโ€™t report bugs at all, according to Bugpilot. This suggests that a significant portion of the user base might simply abandon the software. Applause (88% Abandon Apps): Applause reports that 88% of people will abandon an app because of bugs. This aligns with the notion that users have a low tolerance for software issues. Audience Considerations: Each of these surveys, including my own, likely taps into different types of audiences. This can greatly influence the results and interpretations. Bugpilot and Applause might be drawing from broader, possibly more diverse, or different technologically savvy user bases compared to my survey audience. โ™ฆ Implications for Developers: Proactive Bug Discovery: These findings underscore the need for developers to anticipate and resolve issues, as most users do not report bugs. Understanding Different User Segments: Acknowledging that different user groups have varying behaviors and expectations is key to addressing their needs effectively. โ™ฆ Recommendations: Hire QA Engineer/s: Robust QA is key, given the 33.3% non-reporters based on my poll data. And 96% of Users do not report bugs - they just leave based on the Bugpilot report, and 88% Of People Will Abandon An App Because Of Bugs based on the Applause report. At @weQAsoftware we are offering cost-effective QA Services! Enhanced Feedback Mechanisms: Making bug reporting more accessible and engaging could encourage more feedback. You can use tools like BugPilot or Userback. User Behavior Analytics: Investigating why different user groups choose not to report bugs can inform strategies to improve engagement and retention. Focus on User Experience: Investing in a seamless user experience and preemptive support can mitigate the impact of bugs. โ™ฆ Limitations and Further Research: My poll and the studies by Bugpilot and Applause each have their limitations, including audience diversity and sample size. Further research is needed to fully understand the varying behaviors across different user groups. โ™ฆ Conclusion: These contrasting statistics from my poll, Bugpilot, and Applause paint a diverse picture of user responses to software bugs. They highlight the crucial need for developers to delve deeper into understanding their audience to enhance software quality and user satisfaction. โ™ฆ Your Experience: How do you typically respond to bugs in software? Do these findings align with your behavior? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments! #solopreneur #buildinpublic #indiehackers
