Promoting Financial Values & Community Ownership | Uttam School Project
Under the *Uttam School Project implemented by ISRN, *Compost Vidyalaya, Bairia, Ballia has successfully introduced the *Gullak (Savings) Concept—a simple yet impactful practice that nurtures **financial discipline, collective responsibility, and community participation* among students.
Through this initiative, students and community members contribute small savings to a common Gullak, which is later utilized for *school improvement activities and student-led needs. The practice encourages **value-based learning, strengthens **school–community ownership, and instills habits of **saving, accountability, and teamwork* from an early age.
By promoting the *Gullak concept as a good practice within society*, the initiative helps normalize collective saving, shared responsibility, and community-led problem solving beyond the school environment.
Such grassroots initiatives demonstrate how CSR-supported school interventions can go beyond infrastructure, fostering *life skills, civic responsibility, and sustainable behavioral change* within rural education ecosystems.
Small contributions. Strong values. Sustainable impact.
