On 15 May 2026, during the RCC meeting visit at Nagpur of RC Bhopal, Dr. Y.R.S. Rao, Director of National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), visited the office of Dr. S. Venkat Mohan, Director of NEERI. Discussions were held on strengthening collaboration in the fields of hydrology and water systems, particularly focusing on contamination and water quality issues. Both organizations explored opportunities for expanding collaborative research activities and agreed to undertake joint studies between NIH and NEERI, Nagpur in areas of mutual interest. The meeting was also held with Sh Sontakke Executive Director VIDC Nagpur and Sh Borkar Executive Director TIDC Jalgaon. Dr. Ram Rao Patil, DDG (Ayush Vertical), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, conducted an official visit to the Ayurveda Department at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital to comprehensively assess and review the existing facilities, integrated Research work and projects, and service delivery standards on 21.04.2026. The visit aimed to gain in-depth insights into patient care practices, integrated health research, resource utilization, and overall operational efficiency of the department. During the inspection, emphasis was laid on evaluating the integration and effectiveness of Ayurveda services within a tertiary healthcare setting. DDG Ayush has also appreciated the maximum utilisation of resources and collaborative research projects. The visit was also participated by Dr. H. Panigrahi, Incharge(Institute) Central Ayurveda Research Institute New Delhi; Dr. Shivshankar Rajput, I/c ATC, Safdarjung hospital briefed the details of Ayurveda services and Health research. Under the initiative of ‘Linking research with education’, the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with some homoeopathic medical colleges this month to promote research environment and capacity building in colleges through research training , academic exchange, and collaborative work. The MoUs have been signed with the following institutions: * Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkiya Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh * Government Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh * Nootan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Narsinghgaon, Tal. Kawathe Mahankal, Dist. Sangli, Maharashtra * Lalitaben Ramniklal Shah Homoeopathy College & Hospital, Gardi Vidyapith, Rajkot, Gujarat The MoUs were signed by Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General, CCRH, in the presence of Dr. Sunil S. Ramteke, Deputy Director General and Dr. K. C. Murlidharan, Assistant Director (H) along with the respective college principals. A One-Day State Level Workshop on “Dissemination of Groundwater Data, Aquifer Mapping and Groundwater Management Plan of Andhra Pradesh” was organized on 25.02.2026 by the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Southern Region, Hyderabad, at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The workshop was graced by Dr. Varadaraj, Member-Secretary, CGWB, New Delhi; Dr. N. Jyothi Kumar, Regional Director (SR), CGWB, Hyderabad; Dr. D. Gnanasundar, Regional Director (NCCR), CGWB, Raipur; and Sh. K.S. Shastri, Director, APSGWD, Vijayawada. Scientists from various Regional Offices of CGWB, officials from the Andhra Pradesh State Groundwater and Water Resources Departments, representatives from universities, and NGOs delivered technical presentations on groundwater data dissemination, aquifer mapping initiatives, and sustainable groundwater management strategies in the state. Dr. Y. Sivaprasad, Scientist-C, Deltaic Regional Centre, National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Kakinada, participated in the workshop and highlighted the issue of declining deep groundwater levels in sandstone formations across Andhra Pradesh during the panel discussion. The Regional Director (SR), CGWB, Hyderabad, proposed collaborative studies involving CGWB, APSGWD, and NIH to strengthen groundwater assessment and management efforts in the State. A workshop was organized by the Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Department on 03.02.2026 on the theme “Salinity Ingress Prevention and Sea Level Rise near the Sea Mouths of the Vasishta and Vainateyam Rivers.” Officials from the AP Drainage Department, Central Design Office, INCOIS, NIOT, and scientists from the Deltaic Regional Centre (DRC), National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Kakinada, participated in the meeting. The workshop focused on issues such as severe damage to coconut plantations near the Sankaraguptham Drain in the Central Delta, land subsidence, sea level rise, and variations in river discharge. Dr. Y. R. S. Rao, Director, NIH presented online and shared his experiences and views on mitigating seawater ingress in the Sankaraguptham Drain of Central Godavari Delta. Er. R. Venkata Ramana, Scientist-E, highlighted the involvement of the Deltaic Regional Centre in the region through various salinity-related studies and also discussed the collaborative studies. Dr. Y.
