Shreya, Director & Head, Nasscom Deeptech, set the context for the day at the #NasscomDeeptechConfluence Agri & Water Tech, spotlighting the urgent challenges facing India’s agriculture and water sectors and the role of Deeptech in addressing them. “About 600 million Indians actually experience high to extreme water stress, about 70% of the water is contaminated, and by 2030 our projected demand is expected to get double”, she noted, emphasizing the need for innovation driven solutions that can improve water security, restore soil health, and enhance agricultural productivity at scale. She emphasized the importance of building stronger connections between innovators, industry stakeholders, policymakers, and investors to ensure that promising technologies can move beyond pilots and achieve meaningful scale.
